Why isn't Black Widow on top of your list? I mean, when I said Cap is my favorite Avenger, I meant behind Black Widow. Natasha Romanoff. Scarlett Johansson. Perfection. Lol k stops here.

I never saw Shaun of the Dead fully. I dig zombies, though. Ant-Man is phase III right?

Hehe I haven't seen enough of Black Widow to rate her higher. But I know what you mean. ;)

Yup, Ant-Man is phase III.

Yeah, although Dr. No has decent action, it's not super grand in action. Although the climax is fairly big, I can see why the movie wasn't too expensive. As for making Casino Royale, wasn't EON not allowed to make it because they didn't have the rights till the mid 00's?
The finale of Dr No makes more sense in the novel, especially Bond's escape. There, No delights in pain, sending Bond through an obstacle course in the facility's ventilation system where he receives electric shocks, burns and an encounter with large poisonous spiders along the way. In the movie No seems a tad incompetent. But, yeah, budget restraints. I do like the movie a lot. A worthy debut.

Right now Iron Man 3 is my second favorite Marvel studios movie
I want Cap 2 to make up for the dullness of Thor 2, which Loki was the best thing in

The Raimi trilogy, Iron Man trilogy, both Cap films, X2, First Class and The Avengers are my top Marvel outings. I'm looking forward to Days of Future Past and TASM2 now.

I'm not sure why, but I keep going back to First Class and wishing that the Darwin guy didn't get exploded. He was very cool.

They utilized The Black Widow really well in TWS rather than making the female a typical damsel in distress

She held her own against The Winter Soldier

BW was rather poor in both Iron Man 2 and The Avengers. The version we got in TWS was what i've been waiting for all these years, finally!

First Class was sooo good. I saw it with my dad and he loved it as well.

I think Darwin was the guy that could adapt to anyting, right? I don't know, his superpower looked a bit useless to me, lol. But yeah, i liked his character.

ASM isn't on your list? I thought you liked it well enough.

Dr. No is kind of like Batman Begins in my opinion(Or BB is like Dr. No, depends on how you wanna put it) where it was a very fine intro to a character, but its sequel(s) raised their game and quality above it.

Just realized TWS had [BLACKOUT]five[/BLACKOUT] villains from the comics. [BLACKOUT]Alexander Pierce, Winter Soldier, Arnim Zola, Batroc the Leaper, and Brock Rumlow (pre-Crossbones)[/BLACKOUT] Let that be another lesson to those who fear "villain overloads" in superhero movies.

I wanted Batroc be purple. :csad:

Yeah, a lot of CBMs don't rely on one singular main villain anymore.

BB: Scarecrow, Ghul, the mob/gangs.
TDK: Joker, Two-Face, the mob/gangs.
TDKR: Bane, Ghul, and *Catwoman. *Not completely a villain but she is a major character from the comics. Even though say Black Widow is not a villain, she is a major comic book character added to IM2. You need to share as much time with a villain as you do with a new ally.

IM: Terrorists and Monger.
IM2: Whiplash and Hammer.
IM3: Decoy Mandarin, Killian, Extremis baddies.

TASM2: Electro, Rhino, and GG.

MoS: Zod and fellow Kryptons.

CA 2: Batroc, Winter Soldier, [blackout]Pierce, and Zola.[/blackout]

Remember when the old Batman, Spidey, and CBM flicks had one singular main villain? I'm happy we are moving past that. With more than one villain we can have less procedural films and films feel more natural and fluid.

I do like it as a foundation for the reboot, but I'm holding out for TASM2 really. That one will make or break the direction. I think it will make it, but we'll wait and see. Not long now.

Agreed. I like how FRWL is similar but different, bigger and grander. Check out both airport arrival scenes and how they differ, for example. The early ones really feel like sequels, with Sylvia Trench mentioning Bond going off to Jamaica, Bond telling 'Tilly' in GF he "had a case just like that one", etc.

Connery is my fave - I'm guessing yours too. And had an insanely good run with Dr No, FRWL, Goldfinger and Thunderball. One a year, 62, 63, 64, 65. That doesn't happen any more these days.

I agree for the most part, but there's also the very good chance of botching that kind of set-up. You can have more than one villain, but you have t decide who is going to be the Big Bad, so to speak, and who's the Bigger Bad if there is one. Not to mention retooling if your main villain isn't exactly big enough to handle the film himself. Electro is kind of a prime example of this now.

SymbioticToxin, your avatar is 10/10. That movie is going to surprise us all.

Understood. It's true though about ASM2 being the make or break movie for this franchise. There's so much riding on it's shoulders. I'm hoping for the best.

That movie is the one we deserve, and the one we need right now.

I'm getting more and more pumped for Godzilla. The trailers have been outstanding.

Do we know if we are going to get full on Godzilla fight scenes in the movie like the old films? Or is it gonna be more Cloverfield-esque when we feel his presence but we don't see too much of him?

Godzilla is going to full on fight some monsters I believe.

That should be interesting so see, I hope it doesn't look corny.

If I get my pick of his enemies I'd go with King Ghidorah, Mothra, Mechgodzilla and Gigan. Those were my favorites from back in the day.

The Avengers 3: Age of Godzilla.
