Don't know how I've never heard of this - seeing as how it came out in 2003. But does anyone have this, or have scans of it? I'm very intrigued to see what they came up with on their list.

Not usually a big fan of Wizard, but you never know, this article could suprise me - or remind me of how much they blow.

All I know is that Rogue's debute comic came in at #49 according to wikipedia.

...WTF is going on with CYKES in the right hand corner of that pic?

It’s X-Men from different time periods. That particular Cyclops would be from the Age of Apocalypse.

The real question on my mind is who the hell is the guy behind Cyke?

Oh, that would explain that...

Still...alot of these characters on it are WTF?

For instance...Rogue...in a loincloth?

Wolverine with grey streaks?

Storm with a mohawk?

And I think that might be Bobby in the background, but I can't tell cause the dude is all ABOMINABLE SNOWMAN.

They chose THESE interpretations of the characters to put on the damn poster/announcement thingee?

Stan Lee era Iceman
Movie Nightcrawler
English Betsy
Morrison era Beast
Astonishing Kitty + Lockheed
DArk Phoenix
Ultimate Colossus
Savage Land Rogue
The Witness
Madripoor Wolverine
Excalibur Kitty
Archangel
80's Mohawk Storm
AoA Havok
70's Dazzler
90's Shatterstar
AoA Cyke

So which one was number one? Personally, my number one favorite is God Loves Man Kills or maybe that Days of Future Past one.

I do remember getting quite a few of these books back in the day:

#1-5
I agree with all of these. You've got the debut issues of three of the biggest superheroes in Marvel, the single best selling comic of all time, and the end of the DPS.

#6-9
Ultimate Spider-man doesn't belong here. First of all, it's not pushing the envelope or innovating in any way; just retelling the stories others have written. It's also only 7 years old, and hasn't proven to have the kind of staying power the others have.

#10-13
Again, the Ultimate X-men doesn't belong for all the reasons listed above not to mention it's gone WAY downhill since it's launch.

#14-17
The Todd McFarlane Spider-man series wasn't that good IMO. The first appearance of the black suit, or Venom himself, would've been a better choice.

#18-21
I have no idea why Uncanny #350 made it this far. The story itself was crap, it had everyone acting wildly out of character, had a senseless return by Magneto, and made the most ham-fisted retcon I've ever seen.

#22-25
I'm surprised the DoFP wasn't a little higher. What was so significant about Elektra's death anyway?

#26+
Why in the world have the first appearances of the Blob, Gambit, Beyonder, Vanisher, and Havok made the list? Also, most everything past the 60's is crap.

Was it Marvel that decided these? I don't get this list, parts of it seem so random.

OK, thats not 90s shatter star, its first appearance banshee.

Second, thats not Madripor Logan, its Days of the Future Past Wolverine.

But most importantly, its first appearance BANSHEE Canemacar.

And not that I care much, but thats not AOA Havok, but its X-factor Havok from when he was leading the team.

I'm drunk, thus appalled Banshee was mistook for Shatterstar. So let me give you guys a history lesson, or the ones of you that need it. Banshee First appeared in Uncanny X-men 28, being controlled by the group called Factor Three and faces off against the original five X-Men (No his first appearance wasn't in Giant Size X-men #1). He was freed then asked to join in Giant Size.

Its the ONLY older issue I actually cared to seek out and get CGC graded.

Learn that ****.
Remember that ****.

For further reference, its this issue that the Wizard picture is referring to....

Ah, it seems even I make mistakes... not just the original five X-men in this comic, but Mimic too.

By getting so stoned, you ended up running headlong into a closed door and getting a black eye.:woot:

I like Havok. I think.

And what's up with that list? Ultimate X-Men 7-12 on the list of best X-stories ever?! The first apperance of Beak is a milestone?! And why is the death of Jean Grey not on this? And Psylocke's death was a joke, how does it merit a number 2?!

And Psylocke's death was a joke, how does it merit a number 2?!

The reason Psylocke's death is number 21 is probably just because it's a joke, hard to forget about a death like that. :oldrazz:
