Wobbly Bits...

Here's one more or less finished, a movie version take on the classic X-Men #141 cover by John Byrne & Terry Austin. Like the Hulk Vs Thing and Fantastic Four posters it's a hybrid of photo-manipulation, manual 'painting' and a ton of fiddling about:

...just...amazing:wow:

Yeah... :wow: Are you making another comic thingy to movie thingy like that? Dude, you are the best!

Bumping the thread to post the refined & finished Hulk Vs Iron-Man pic I entered in the art comp a couple of months back:

Hulk-Vs-Iron-ManBG.jpg

As with the others I've made of this type the pic began as a drawing:

Hulk-Vs-Thing-INKS.jpg

Then I worked over this base using whatever photo's I could find that were suitable to manip and wacom paint the thing to look as realistic as I could.

wobbly!!! i been wonderin' where ya beenz. tight remanip! the drawing looks cool too dude.

Great work but... is that Batman on the grill of that firetruck?

Was wondering if anyone would spot that...

It's a cuddly toy that was on the original photo for the truck. Thought it would be cute to leave it there.:)

Interesting... Reminds me of the old game, "I Spy". I didn't see that at first. hehehe By the way, I love your photo-manipulations. I like how you make some classic favorite comic book covers into live-action manips. That's what I am really, really, really interested in. I can't wait to see/check this thread for what's coming up next. Are you gonna do DC Comics "live-actionized classic comics" ones by any chance, Wobbly?

Wobbly your the best love that ironman hulk:up:

GREAT to see you still at it Wobbly!
Can't wait to see what you do for Thor when his movie starts filming.

Have not done much lately (I am the master of getting sidetracked...:csad:) but here's a work in progress of what will be a sculpted bust for the Thing:

ThingBustWIP1.jpg

ThingBustWIP2.jpg

This was made using Sculpey Polymer clay, the head measures about 5" high, and once I get the shoulders for the head to rest on done I will get round to painting it with acrylics. The eyes, btw, were borrowed from a doll :yay:

Very cool! I like that you went with the comic version and not the burn victim from the movies.

hahaha, good one Keith_V, very cool looks great, can't wait to see it finished.

Thanks, and yes, I wasn't too keen with the face they made in the movie either. They did away with his two biggest characteristics (the top heavy brow and button nose). It was little better in the 2nd film but still underwhelming and the Thing should be something you go 'wow' at if he were done faithfully on film.

Anyway, here's the head mounted on to shoulders and painted with acrylics:

It's still not quite done as I have to apply a light glaze with thinned down satin varnish to give the surface a little translucence and protect the paint.

Had actually forgot about this thread what with one thing or another, but I have not been entirely bone idle...

A different kind of thing to the stuff I have posted before, however this started as a one off job for a work colleague and I have found there is a market for this via ebay so I thought I'd share some of the work I have done there, which is Commissioned pencil drawings from the photographs of the customers choice:

Not sure what the boards policies are on self advertisement so I won't post a direct link to my auctions. If anyone is interested in a commission though just send me a PM :yay:
