I heard "Woman" by Wolfmother on Sirius Octane yesterday and I really liked it.

If their music is that good in general, I think I'm gonna be a fan.

Bruce Springsteen helped save rock at the time when he first came out. I wonder if this band will do the same?

I don't know if anyone has heard of this band . . . but they are the product of what I would imagine would occur if Led Zeppelin, The White Stripes and Black Sabbath had a crazy orgy that resulted in a freak offspring known as WOLFMOTHER.

If anyone has been craving a band that blends crunchy, monstrous riffs in the tradition of 70's psychedelic rock like no band since Zeppelin, you must buy this disc.

They're out of Australia, and quickly building rapport for their rep here in the US, and their CD is only like $10 right now . . .

I know that I've felt that rock has been steadily declining since the good 'ol grunge heyday . . . and if you feel the same, WOLFMOTHER just might answer your prayers . . .

wolfmother are rip-off artists. they're hacks, to put it bluntly. if you like their sound, check out THE DATSUNS. they're another aussie band, except THE DATSUNS have been around a bit longer. wolfmother have admitted to "being inspired" by THE DATSUNS, but give them a listen, and you'll hear it goes further than just "inspiration".

"borrowing" another band's style is one thing.

singing in another man's style, note for note and tuning and playing your guitars and stealing riffs is not so common. or maybe it is.

either way, it shows a lack of creativity and talent.

ergo, they suck.

as for system of a down: i'm not too big on them, but i do repsect their intelligence and politically charged lyrics.

anyway, this board is about wolfmother. i'm just saying their sound is not their own. and if you wanna support the "real" creativity behind it, check out THE DATSUNS.

If WOLFMOTHER are hacks, then you might as well just say that they stole their sound from Sabbath and Zeppelin . . . I'll check out the DATSUNS anyway, but I still don't really care because I like their music, sound, lyrics, and power-riffs . . . . despite how copied anyone else claims they may be . . .
