Wolverine has dealt with Omega Red repeatedly in the past, so the Russia connection is there.

And Omega Red is like one of Logan's most well-known enemies that we haven't seen in the movies. So he has to be the villain if there's a Wolverine 3!

Wolverine 3 in Russia would be fantastic

Has there been any comic material of Logan in Russia before?
In the animated series Wolverine, Storm, and Colossus face him as he kidnaps Illyna and torments Peters village.

Storm entombs him in ice which is the only way they stop him.

He shows up again later on and again Storm and Logan team up to stop him.

They could add Belarusian Darkstar to this movie as in TAS.

I guess Mariko would have to die in the third one?

I like some of the ideas coming out of this thread but I honestly think that if Fox were to focus on a third Wolverine they would loose focus on the big picture which should be to make more X-men movies. Hopefully DOFP and X-force lead to more team films. Those have proven to be the best.

Why would Mariko have to die? There is absolutely no reason to do that.

I'd like to see Wolverine & Jubilee someday, either in an X-film or in a Wolverine solo movie.

I don't even know if Mariko has to be in Wolverine 3. I feel its gonna be similar to the Wolverine 2, if Wolverine is trying to save Mariko from the villains.

Well it does happen in the comics and it would really ****-off Logan, kind of like the start of Bourne Supremacy. An super angry Logan out for revenge on those that killed Mariko, taking no prisoners to hunt down those that did it.

Hell Yes! I'm a Wolverine fan first and X-Men fan second so I'm all for a 3rd Wolverine movie, and yes, Omega Red has to be the villain, he's Logan's second greatest enemy IMO.

That first pic of Omega Red is some kick ass art. If they were to do another Wolverine movie and it featured him then I would really love if they tried to be fairly faithful to that costume. Though I'd hope the story would largely be a more personal/thoughtful story like The Wolverine was (for the most part).

I think they should only do that if they go out of ideas, Wolverine 3 should go through a different direction, let Mariko rest for a while.

That's the thing, Wolverine gets his solo films while the X-Men get their team up films without having Wolverine there to steal the focus from the other members.

I'd be all for having Tao back as Mariko, but I'm not keen to see her killed off.

Voted No. "The Wolverine" was the spot-light he deserved, but I can see Jackman bowing out to some extent in the near future. With DOFP, and potentially X-Force as well, I'd be perfectly happy to give him much less presence.

The history with Logan and Arkady would certainly lend itself to a personal, character driven story just like The Wolverine, and I agree about the costume, some tweaks would be made as always but in general I'd want to see them stay as close as possible. the idea of Logan going to Russia and learning more of his past in a period the movies haven't touched on yet would be cool. I love that art as well, it would make for a great poster.

Who should play OR?

Chris Hemsworth? :D It's an interesting one as I don't think he's a character with an obvious casting choices list, it could be a case of once again finding a new talent.

What about Wolverine learning more about his time in the 50s since it will be set in Russia, could bring a lot of good oportunities to the plot.

That sounds cool, but I want Yukio in the story!!

EVERYONE wants Yukio in the story, she's just that cool.

It's not just Hugh that would be spread thin though. It's the producer Laura-Shuller Donner and anyone else that is involved in producing the X-men franchise. They only have so much time to focus on film making between Burke Williams massages and long lunches at Spagos.
