Hugh Jackman has been playing wolverine for a decade now, and i think he has been wonderful as wolverine. My question is, would you (as both a comic fan, and a general movie goer) still be excited by the prospect of a sequel that did not feature wolverine in the line up?

Thoroughly excited but it all depends on the story and director. This, we have learned the hard way.

I'd admit it'd be weird at first, but I could dig it, some of the best rosters in the comics history didn't have Wolverine on them.

I would watch an X-Sequel BECAUSE Wolverine wouldn't be in it. I love the character but if there was an X-Film without him it would guarantee the other X-Men would finally get some much needed exposure.

Even if the film was written by Brett Ratner and directed by Uwe Boll i'd still be looking forward to it simply because Wolverine wouldn't be around to hog all the screentime. He can't remember who he is. We get it. We don't need 5+ movies about it!

/rant :)

Well X-Men First Class would be that anyway and as he hogged four movies im guessing we will go back to how collaborative x2 was. although story focused on wolverine that was most characters had there own development.

Infact i have stated it before, Wolverine was not essential to the story of x2... Firstly stryker had already discovered the mutant school. He only learnt of Wolverine whilst at the school but Stryker already knew about cerebro from magneto so all what would of happend if Wolverine wasnt there would of been, If wolerine had stayed in canada... Storm would of gone solo to meet with Nightcrawler, Jean would of protected the children when strykers men attack. She would of won or at least helped alot of them escape. leading the group she rejoins Storm and the two form a plan to find stryker using Jeans telepathic ability. FInds them at alkali lake rescues them thee end.

Of course! One of my big problems with the X-movies is their crazy over emphasis on Wolverine... By the time Origins came out, I was so bored with the character I didnt even bother going to see it.

Im not bored of Wolverine... well not yet.

See i always figured before the series kicked off that wolverine would probably be the eyecandy that makes the franchise.

I think Wolverine origin needed to be told but they oversaturated him by x3 people were getting sick of him... Personally i would of had Wolverine leave after x2 to then have his own spin off and have x3 wolverineless but they seemed to be a new x-men movie every 3 years.

of course. From a marketing standpoint, I see the value in having him, but I dont think he's necesary for a good film. Id welcome one without him

Uh...yeah?

There are at least 15 other characters that I would pay to see beside Wolverine..

Definetly YES.

I love the X-men, Wolverine is just one more character.

Id like to see him on a possible X4, but in a secondary role.

lol. Never a secondary role.

Not a guy who's as important to the distributors as Jackman.

But...X4 ain't gonna happen anyway, so..

well i made my self very clear many times before. yes yes I would watch tons of X Men movies with out him and tones dozens more. he has his own franchise now keep h spot light hogging there. any ways seeing that singer head where I expected. It's st time to let him and fox finish his /their obsession of wolverine there as well and start of with that movie so he can finally move on and concentrate on other characters after his done. let him get wolverine out of his their system.

That or let some else take over I don't care how long I have to wait ether. I still rather some else then to see him force 6 claws on s again. cause they don't under the word secondary when it comes to that character.

Cause it's hard for fox to get real screen writers. that's the real problem.

We would be so lucky to get an X-Men movie sans Wolverine...

Hugh Jackman has been the perfect Logan/Wolverine but I'd watch anything X-Men. Wolverine is still my favorite character but that's the beauty of the X-Universe. They deliver many different characters to love.

At this point, a Wolverine-less X-Men might be an improvement lol

I don't see the point of an X-men sequel without Wolverine.

or Xavier, Jean Grey, or Cyclops for that matter.

If they reboot the franchise, the first movie should be without Wolverine. It should just be Iceman, Beast, Cyclops, Angel, Jean Grey and Prof. X.

I agree. I know Wolverine is popular but I think the X-Men brand is strong enough to do well without the character featuring in a movie or two.

I despise Wolverine so I'd be down for any X-Men projects without him.

Why the hell not? The X-men existed long before Wolverine.

I was actually thinking, Wolverine's character maybe the very thing we need to progress x-men 4 to x-men 6...

To me the first trilogy was more of a validation for the character of wolverine. He didnt know who he was, what his purpose was. But he found a home with the x-men and after all that happened at the end of the third movie, he realises that is where he needs to be.

Id say, X-Men 4 will have Wolverine drive the x-men forward because you need a strong character like that.

Iceman, Rogue, Colossus, Shadowcat and Angel all didnt have there chance to shine but at the same time they couldnt hold the film alone...

But think of it this way, what if we re-molded the way we saw the x-men, collaborate with the characters and bring some back and forth...

Id say, lets of Wolverine & The X-Men - no pun towards the animated series but yeah, think of it as a renovation.

Wolverine - now leads the x-men, we take the focus away from the school and we have this new team of x-men

Wolverine - leader
Iceman - second in command
Rogue - repowered & team representative
Colossus - the muscle
Shadowcat - the specialist (Recon, tech)
Angel - As Support

Beast could potentially return not as an x-man but as a guide. someone who is watching over the new team as written requested by xavier as part of his will.

the more i think of it the more i could see it work.
