Hey I have a stupid question!
Wolverine has been known to stab the occasional person with his claws. SO what happens if he stabs a person with, for example, AIDS and then retracts to claws into his hand. That would mean the AIDS blood gets into his bloodstream right? And gives him AIDS? Now, I realize that his healing factor would probably take care of any disease pretty quickly, but I thought it'd be interesting to ask :wolverine:

Wolverine would not get sick of AIDS...how could he????? The man doesn't even get a cold.

Probably not. The interesting thing is they could heal a lot of diseases permanetly by making a vacine from Wolverine's antibodies.

That oddly sounds like the idea of Leech's blood curing mutantcy.

They touched on that in TAS a few times. Once he gave leech some of his blood to get rid of some disease he had at christmas and logan said that he tried doing something like that before, it didnt work and the person died i think. It because of the blood types and the rejetion although, i doubt anyone would have logans blood type, its unique. Luckily it worked on leech though.

The second time was when logan contracted the legacy virus and he healed himself, beast studied his blood and used the antibodies produced to create a vaccine against the virus. Beast said something about the possibilities of what his blood could do but logan wasnt really up to it, probably because of past experiences with experimentation if you know what i mean ;)

There must be some kind of limitation as to how his blood could be used to fight off some diseases but i doubt they would explore that in the comics that much.

As for AIDS, its just the beginning of the disease which can last for years before it turns into HIV so it would not have such an adverse effect on his antibodies, not all would be attacked, and seeing as how fast he can heal in the movies, getting rid of the AIDS would take no time at all

let me give you a quick lesson in AIDS, when it touches the air, AIDS and HIV dies. So unless he had a would in himself when he stabbed someone, and that wound touched the other person's wound, he would get it..but wolverine can heal against anything so AIDS would be nothing to him. I didn't like how he could heal soo fast in the movie at the end with phoenix...that was stupid.

In the comics for a while it was implied that Angel had a "healing factor" and he went around healing cripples and stuff. It later turned out that he still had the Arch Angel inside of him. So I think the cause of his healing factor was like the apocalypse virus or whatever still being in his system.
