Wolverine filming update/news.

What Gotham said. It's usually a video to hype up production of a film w/o showing actual footage, but interviews with producers/cast, concept art, etc. I recall they did one for X3, but it was never released to the general public.

An IMDB poster said Hugh was at the gym where he works out in Campbelltown yesterday, and he had heard they will be shooting near Camden which I guess is near there.

THE claws were out at a celebrity party last night, but only to honour Hugh Jackman's action film Wolverine.

Jackman splashed out on a VIP party for the cast in Sydney, inviting friends, including Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber, to an exclusive soiree.
Jackman and his wife, Deborra-lee Furness, who have been in town during the making of the action film, were the hosts of the event for cast and crew.

Not only does Jackman play the ultra-hairy Wolverine in the big-budget film, his production company, Seed - also run by John Palermo and Furness - is involved in making it.

Jackman spent up big on the party, supplying gourmet catering for A-list guests and hiring entertainers.

It has been a busy few nights for the Wolverine production team.
On Friday night, cast and crew transformed a Sydney park into a sci-fi playground to film scenes.

The shoot took place at Federal Park in Glebe with Jackman and Furness keeping a close eye on proceedings.

Tight security was in place as scenes were shot overnight, although parked trucks in the usually sleepy road surrounding the park and a few mutant types wandering around gave residents an indication something unusual was up.

Jackman agreed to create the Wolverine spin-off after the success of the X-Men films, in which he gained global stardom as the superhero.
The star has trained extensively for the role - eating strictly controlled meals every three hours - to maintain the bulk needed to portray the character.

Production for Wolverine began in New Zealand last month, before shifting to Sydney.

Watts has returned to Australia, with her young son Alexander, to accompany her partner, Schreiber, during the shoot. After Sydney the production heads to New Orleans.

Wolverine is due for worldwide release next year.

It's Party Time for Wolverine

Action ... Hugh Jackman on the Wolverine spin-off set / Simon Bullard

THE streets of Glebe, in Sydney's inner west, were transformed into a carnival for the filming of Hugh Jackman's Hollywood blockbuster, X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

During the one-night shoot on Friday, Jackman and his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, were seen laughing and chatting with extras and crew as they inspected the purpose-built set.

The scenes, shot at Glebe's Federal Park, appeared to be a flashback sequence with extras wearing flares, Afros and long sideburns as they rode the Ferris wheel.

Dressed casually but sporting the Wolverine mutton-chops and beard, Jackman disappointed bystanders by not getting his metal claws out.

There was also no sign of his co-stars Ryan Reynolds, the Black Eyed Peas' Will.I.Am and Naomi Watt's partner, Liev Schreiber.

Last night, Jackman hosted a private party for the film's cast and crew in Sydney.

Wolverine is the first spin-off from the X-Men series. Scenes have already been shot in New Zealand, and filming will continue in New Orleans.

More than 1200 extras are expected to take part in filming around Sydney, with 45 actors and 350 crew.

Jackman's production company, Seed, has paired with 20th Century Fox to make the movie, which will explore Wolverine's early days and is due to hit movie screens mid next year.

Wolf pack ... Hugh Jackman and wife Deborra Lee Furness

AFTER a week shooting knee deep in mud, the cast and crew of X-Men Origins: Wolverine earned a night off soaking in harbour views and vodka cocktails at the spectacular Kings Cross pad of the film's producer John Palermo.

With 360-degree views of the city and a 200-plus guest list there was more to ogle on Saturday night than at the rival Mardi Gras parade up the road.

Seed Productions partner Hugh Jackman took a casual turn playing party guest on a rare night out without the kids with wife Deborra-Lee Furness.

But with stand-ins and co-stars also sporting the X-Men hero's signature mutton chops, it wasn't just the 50 bottles of Grey Goose consumed that had guests thinking they were seeing double.

The cutest pairing of the night was Naomi Watts and her leading man Liev Schrieber, who shied away from the camera but openly nuzzled like lovesick cats throughout the evening.

The pint-sized star was never far from Schrieber's side before they were parted: Watts heading home to tend to the couple's bub Alexander while Schrieber stayed a little longer to bond with the boys in the temporary poker den, set up complete with professional croupier for the party.

The Wolverine "family" also opened its arms to local film royalty Baz Luhrmann and wife Catherine Martin, the brothers Edgerton - Joel and Nash and Jackman's personal trainer Michael Ryan and wife Zoe.

Black Eyed Peas star and Wolverine cast member Will.i.am was welcomed late in the night, kept busy earlier in the evening recording voiceovers for the film at Fox Studios.

No expense was spared, with Potts Point watering hole Lotus even creating a special - and potent - cocktail called the Wolverine for the occasion, which certainly brought the werewolf out in a few visitors.

Jackman sightings excite film buffs
Tuesday 4 March, 2008 9:00am

ONE of Australia's biggest stars Hugh Jackman was reportedly filming scenes from his new movie in a secluded location in Camden last week.

A Werombi Rd resident tipped off the Macarthur Chronicle to trucks and three large cranes bearing floodlights on both sides of Brownlow Hill Loop Rd in Camden last week, where locals believed scenes were being filmed.

He said the crew had been on location for up to four days.

One of the workmen entering the site on Friday said the crew had been shooting scenes for the latest X-men movie, X-men Origins: Wolverine, which is due for release next year.

Jackman is no stranger to Camden. The popular star and Nicole Kidman shot scenes for Baz Luhrmann's Australia at Camelot in 2006.

A spokeswoman for Jackman's production company Seed Productions confirmed the rumours. "They were out that way for four nights of shooting and they had a great time," she said.

As with the shooting in 2006, secrecy has shrouded last week's events, with scenes being shot after dark, according to nearby residents.

Murmurs on the internet have also placed the X-men trilogy star in the area, with a movie website's chat forum sighting Jackman at a gym.

glad to see that filming is going okay.. I wonder when we'll get to see any interviews with the cast.. and will a teaser be ready by November?

If filming is done by June I don't see why a teaser wouldn't be ready by November. I bet you something will be shown with Hugh's movie "Australia" which is due out on November 14 - that's also a Fox movie. And I wouldn't be surprised if something (maybe even Hugh at least?) is at Comic-Con.

There was talk that Sabretooth would lose his memory at the end of the spin-off, possibly from having Wolverine's claws stuck through his head in a rather brutal lobotomy...and that this would then be the reason for the rather dumb brute version in X1.

I'd barely called that a rivalry. It was handled poorly in the first film.

MOVIE star Hugh Jackman is very particular about his pillows - as Campbelltown Rydges staff found out during his stay at the hotel last week.

General manager Jo Acott said the Hollywood star of X-Men fame had told her "it was one of the best pillows he had slept on".

So she gave him a complimentary king-size feather-and-down pillow when he checked out last Thursday night.

"Hugh's very down to earth, a very nice, unassuming man," she said.

Rydges hosted an entourage of 25 cast and crew who were filming scenes for the prequel to the X-Men trilogy, Origins: Wolverine.

The hotel staff rubbed shoulders with not only Jackman but the Black-Eyed Peas' Will.I.Am, Naomi Watts' partner Liev Schreiber, Ryan Reynolds and Dominic Monaghan from the TV series Lost.

Ms Acott said the cast would often sleep during the day and then train at Aqua Fit before filming at a "forest" about 20 kilometres away from 7pm to 6am. She said Jackman was very low-key sticking to orders of "poached eggs on wholemeal toast with avocado".

Apart from the four days filming at the secret location within Macarthur, most of the film is being shot at Fox Studios.

Wolverine seen in Macarthur

CAMDEN is being considered for the backdrop of Hugh Jackman's new blockbuster, Wolverine.

The Australian-born Hollywood star has been spotted in Macarthur in the past week as scenes were being shot at Brownlow Hill.

Sporting a Wolverine-style beard, Jackman was seen working out at both Fitness First and Aquafit in Campbelltown and stayed at Campbelltown Rydges.

The Advertiser understands Camelot, one of Camden's historic properties, is being considered by the production company as a location for some scenes of the film.

Jackman is no stranger to Camelot, having shot part of Baz Luhrmann's Australia at Camelot's farm stables with Nicole Kidman last year.

Campbelltown Rydges general manager Jo Acott said Jackman, who checked out last Thursday, was "very down to earth, a nice, unassuming man".

The hotel's staff rubbed shoulders with not only Jackman but the Black Eyed Peas' Will.I.Am, Naomi Watts's partner, Liev Schreiber, Ryan Reynolds and Dominic Monaghan from TV series Lost.

That picture up there is hugh's wife?? It looks like it could be his mother.

His wife Deb sometimes doesn't photograph very well (which happens to many of us!) - she's quite attractive when you see her in person. They've been married almost 12 years and she was the star in Australia when they met on a TV show she was starring in and he was just out of drama school and the co-star. They appear very happy and he's always mentions her in interviews and she was the first one he thanked when he won his Tony Award and Emmy Award. So that's it in a nutshell. Back to your regular programming....

Kinda/sorta related - looks like a lot of other stuff depends on the success of Wolverine - Zak Penn video interview. Re Young X-Men - he said they are waiting until Wolverine comes out to make a decision.

The interviewer also said Lauren Shuler Donner did an interview the other day where she said they were moving ahead with X-Men 4. Penn said he hadn't heard anything about it so maybe he wasn't the writer on it. The interviewer then said maybe it was in the early stages.

Zak Penn – Part 2

- Young X-Men talk – movie spinoff

***

- X-Men 4 talk – he hasn’t heard anything yet

^That's a pretty good interview with Penn. I always gave him credit for kinda apologizing and talking to the fans after X3.
Sounds like he's passionate about these properties and he probably fought fox pretty hard about some of the decisions

LOL - let's hope this translates to tickets at the movie theater!!

Perving on Hugh saves lives
March 08, 2008 12:00am

WITH his rippling biceps, hirsute facial features and that leading man swagger, there's a lot to like about Hugh Jackman these days.

But perving on the box office star allegedly saved the lives of three star-struck women yesterday, who escaped injury in a near-miss car accident.

All by a Wolverine whisker.

Self-confessed "lover of Sydney Confidential" Virginia Kim survived to tell her harrowing celebrity tale, when the car she was travelling to work in slowed to check out the Aussie actor having breakfast at Bills restaurant, Darlinghurst.

"He was kind enough to perch himself at the window table, looking very early morning scruffy but still very lush," Kim said in an emotional email.

"As we drove past the window (for the third consecutive time), we slowed the car to an absolute crawl and came to a very early stop at the traffic light," Kim wrote in the email.

"Two seconds later, a crazy out-of-control car came out of nowhere and crossed on to the wrong side of the road. Had we stopped where we were supposed to, it would have been a head-on collision."

The Sydney publicist and her two colleagues were shaken by the incident, but the drama merely confirmed their interest in the star.

"Hugh Jackman's good looks and our incapacity to take our eyes away literally saved our lives," she gushed. "He's the office hero."

Confidential attempted to speak to the Man Of The Moment, but a spokeswoman for Jackman said the star was unavailable for comment.

Probably busy delivering puppies or helping little old ladies across the street, we would guess.

So if Wolverine does well they will continue and make a Wolverine trilogy, if it doesn't do too well they will green light an X-Men 4 the next morning?

I'd rather see a Wolverine trilogy, I hope it does well. Since there are tons of Wolverine fans here's hoping. Maybe they could do other storylines of Wolverine for movie 2 and 3.

Donner's comments were from mid-late 2006. They're obviously going the spin-off route and then going back to the X-Men with a brand new cast. Start with the comic book origins this time and the original crew.
