Comics Wolverine Jr.

I don't know if it's the worst but it is disappointing. I was hoping for better, but still I am bad and buy it anyway, hoping it will improve. I keep thinking that if I stop I will miss something relevant to the Logan saga. :(

I agree that the story is waaaay to stretched out, but nonetheless, it IS a good book, and has had good moments, nice twists, gritty dialogue, and has been a very Woverine story. Not only that, it did fit into continuity in Civil War issue 1. (I have no idea where it fits into after that though???)

The only thing I think that Dillon made a mistake with, was to spend SUCH a long time at the start with the introduction of the "Murumasa blade,' 'Nuke,' and his son. The reason why I think this, is seeing that as it was an origin story, that is supposed to be tying up SO many convulted loose ends, to inrtroduce so many new storylines before even approaching the past is quite a deterrent for longtime fans, like myself.

Saying that, the opposing side to this is, maybe because it was SUCH a convoluted mess, that it needed A LOT MORE story to make it fit together.

And I also think that people are being somewhat confusingly harsh on some bits... Although it's taken a while, we ARE finally haveing old loose ends being approaced. We've got some major stuff being approached, HOW Logan's relationship as a mutant began with the government. The VERY LONG TIME dangling plot thread that has been, 'Who is Logan's son?' We now know why the hell he has constantly said, 'I'm the best there is at what I do...' so obsessively. And most importantly, (I thought a lot more people would be happy about this,) we're FINALLY having some closure to the story of Omega Red and the carbonadium synthesiser that Jim Lee introduced so many years ago. And it fits together fine. It's also great to see Jubilee back again.

I do agree it's taking too long, but the story IS getting there, I'm just hoping he stays on track and gives us much more closure on many things. The whole plot for the carbonadium synthesiser as bugged me for many years, and I'm so happy to see it come together. We have Maverick here too, in a major way, and we also now have Logan, Creed, and Mavericks' relationship truly fleshed out, and it makes much more sense, rather than raising more quesitons. We now know a lot more answers to the turning points that they've had in their lives due to the fact that they were once a team, all with their own agendas. (We also now know, that he won't be getting into the Creed/Logan relationship too heavily, that's now been passed onto Loeb, I wonder if that screwed with what Dillon had planned?)

Like I said before, it took Dillon a while, but there is a HUGE messed to be cleared up, and maybe he felt he needed to add a lot to fix a truly humongously massive mess, (we all know how big the mess is as well.) And just look at all the stuff I said above, he's covered that in just a few issues, and I'm sure I'm missing other minor details that he's covered about Wolvie's past, (like why he's so obsessed with Japan.)

It's not the best thing ever, and it's not started the way we all thought it would, but it is a MASSIVE job, and I do think he's doing well so far. If anything, the book is getting more and more readable with every issue, and I am having fun. Let's just hope it all pays off, I have a feeling it will.

You make a lot of good points and I not giving up on this book yet. :)

It's lost in the Marvel thread shuffle somewhere. I can't remember...personally I hope it's not true, because I really hate Wolverine being on the team.

It was one of the Marvel guys talking about New Avengers post CW, and it seemed he more let it slip than actually confirmed them. He mentioned Wovie and Spidey. I hope his information was incorrect though.

Totally agree with you. For all the things that JQ gets right, there are many simple fundamentals of the MU that he doesn't seem to get right. He wants the Avengers to be like DC's JL, but there are major differences. By the nature of the DCU, and their fans, the most powerful charactrs are their most popular. But with the MU, weirder, and more loner, street level type characters tend to be popular with Marvel. The ones who generally don't go on a super team.

Like we all know, when characters become popular, for sales they have to go on a team book. But until JO's run, Spidey has never been a full time Avenger, and that has always been partly because former writers wanted to show a bit of integrity and NOT create a situation which shows that Marvel are complete sell outs.

One could argue that desperate times call for desperate measures, and Marvel have had great success with some of their latest moves, surely now isn't it time to move along and have some other characters shine, rather than ****ing my alll time fave 2 characters. It gets harder and harder for me to defend them with all this overexposure... Spidey is getting as bad as Wolvie when it comes to being in 10 places at the same time!

It was either Bendis or whoever is the artist on New Avengers after CW that confirmed they'll still be on the team after.

I think it was the artist that will be on the title.

Has everyone seen the special layout of the kids claws as well?

Eww, I dunno, maybe because they're darkened and coming out of his wrist it creeps me out a little...

Here's another look at those claws:

*DBZ style*
"Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooon!" :cmad:

"Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaatheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrr!" :cmad:

*5 seconds later a tender hug is exchanged*

"I luv ya, ya rotten lil' bastard"

"Same ta you pops"

Audience goes awww and then Onslaught shows up and steals the princess!!!!:wow:
Uh...wait....oops.

THAT is Wolverine's kid? Psycho Mohawk boy? Color me dissapointed. I dn't know what I was expecting but I'm sure that wasn't it....

L'il Logan jr has a lot of repressed rage. It would appear he's some sort of assassin or organized spree killer. He njoys it and reminded me a lot of Bruce Willis in the Jackal -- cold and calculating. Certain of his craft.

Come on retcon, please come on, say scarlet witch f'ed up the marvel universe and do a cheap reversal.

I really ca'nt get past the Stoopid pointless mohawk.

Gladiator can pull it off. Wolvie lite can't.

I dunno, I kinda like it. :D

Wolverine Origins? Never heard of it. Im not interested in that.

Sorry I can not see him as Wolverine's son.
The mohawk disturbs me I guess

I am guessing they wanted to do something wild with his hair since Logan's hair has been a bit wild but they didn't want to copy it. :)

True, that is an awsome idea.....
But I am only wondering if it really worked out :D

I just wonder how effective they can be in that configureation, having the claw in front would restirct his range of motion, not to mention they would be better "pokers" than "knives".

All we need is about 20,000 more readers to drop this title and well get a new creative team. Frank Tieri said he wanted to write this book so vote with your wallets so he can replace Danny boy. Some of you may actually like Daniel Way's writing but if any of you are familiar with Frank Tieri's run with Wolverine Im pretty sure many of you would agree he would be a huge improvement for this book.

I already voted, since I didn't get it lol! I was supposed to when the Wolverine and Origins split into the 2 seperate series last year. Instead of getting both, I got 2 years of Wolverine (w/o paying for it!), and at this point, that is just fine with me.
Why pay for something I don't like.
As for the "claws" guess they ran out of ideas, since X-23 has 2 in her hands and 1 in the foot. Looks useless to me. No finess or style. Looks like something hotdogs and marshmellows should be cooked on.
