Woman dies of water overdose

I heard this story a few days ago. People should be careful... I remember a story some years back about a woman who told her daughter to drink 8 cups of water a day, and she was very strict about it... when she found out her daughter wasn't doing it, she made her drink two days worth of water in one sitting.

It washed out her insides and she died.

If you think about it, it's the ultimate way to kill someone you don't like.

Speaking of ultimate water deaths, I also like the gun that fires little ice pellets which melt inside the wound so tracing a bullet type to a specific weapon is impossible.

I think it's good that we come up with more ways to kill someone where it's untraceable.

I've heard of this a number of times. It actually caused a couple of deaths a few years ago and was deemed fraternity hazing ( I remember having to sit on committess to discuss this crap). They made their pledges chug water and two ended up dying. The really sad part is that the fraternity made them drink water because they thought it would be harmless and not nearly as bad as making them chug beer, which most likely wouldn't have killed them.

It's impossible to build bulletts and utilize the weapon without failing the initial point of killing.

I wish I recorded when I had shown my friend how it doesn't work. It was cool, I built a gun specifically guaged for firing ice, and the ice bullets kept exploding trying to leave the barrel.

Some people don't understand that if you stomach fills up with water, and you keep ingesting it, it only has up to go.

They obviously weren't frozen enough. :cmad:

Meh, the best is mixing bullets. Hollow points and normal rounds and whatnot.

Wrong
You lacks the tools.
You lack the talent.
I'm going to believe you over PBS?
Ha.

You kind of are just assuming I lack those things.

Plus, I believe even a show on your Discovery Channel covered this one as well.

See, that's the fun part, because then you leave traceable chemicals in the body.

And, yes, they were frozen. It's why they shattered.

Thats really sad actually, especially the crying bit :csad:
REST IN PEACE Lady

water is addictive- or at least the action of drinking water is. i love random facts:heart:

Water intoxication eyed in ‘Hold Your Wee for a Wii’ contest death

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - A woman who competed in a radio station’s contest to see how much water she could drink without going to the bathroom died of water intoxication, the coroner’s office said Saturday.

Jennifer Strange, 28, was found dead Friday in her suburban Rancho Cordova home hours after taking part in the “Hold Your Wee for a Wii” contest in which KDND 107.9 promised a Nintendo Wii video game system for the winner.

“She said to one of our supervisors that she was on her way home and her head was hurting her real bad,” said Laura Rios, one of Strange’s co-workers at Radiological Associates of Sacramento. “She was crying and that was the last that anyone had heard from her.”

It was not immediately know how much water Strange consumed.

A preliminary investigation found evidence “consistent with a water intoxication death,” said assistant Coroner Ed Smith.

John Geary, vice president and marketing manager for Entercom Sacramento, the station’s owner, said station personnel were stunned when they heard of Strange’s death.

“We are awaiting information that will help explain how this tragic event occurred,” he said.

Initially, contestants were handed eight-ounce bottles of water to drink every 15 minutes.

“They were small little half-pint bottles, so we thought it was going to be easy,” said fellow contestant James Ybarra of Woodland. “They told us if you don’t feel like you can do this, don’t put your health at risk.”

Ybarra said he quit after drinking five bottles. “My bladder couldn’t handle it anymore,” he added.

After he quit, he said, the remaining contestants, including Strange, were given even bigger bottles to drink.

“I was talking to her and she was a nice lady,” Ybarra said. “She was telling me about her family and her three kids and how she was doing it for kids.”
I lost weight from drinking water

Water intoxication (also known as hyperhydration or water poisoning) is a potentially fatal disturbance in brain function that results when the normal balance of electrolytes in the body is pushed outside of safe limits by a very rapid intake of water.

It is rare, but proves you can overdose on anything. This is more common in distance runners.

That's good to hear, but I hope they get a harsher punishment for the stupid contest. Did they not think before doing such ridicules contest that has cost someones life.

Its water. Like for real. And they didn't hold a gun to her head to do it. :whatever:
