If it were another kid, which happens like everyday, and not some mean ass old lady, haha. Though I have to admit envisioning that fat old broad trying to throw a kid in is kind of funny.

yep...but that's because a kid would probably be able to get out. It's more like sticking someone's nice trusting kid in a cage for 15 hours...a cage that muffles the kids screams.

It took the owners to hear the muffled cries of the cat to finally find it and it was in the trash for 15 hours.

I fail to see why some people in here are trying so hard to find the humor in this situation. Knowsbleeds comments are funny because they are sarcastic (at least I hope). It's easy to make light of it...but if you actually think about it...it's really messed up.

I own 3 cats who I love very dearly...so there isn't much humor here for me. It actally makes me pretty irritated, if you couldn't already tell...

True...and of course there's much more messed up stuff going on on a regular bases throughout the world. There are also a lot of awesome, positive things going on as well...

I think it's the shock of this situation. It's just rare to see a case like this where it's completely video taped. So, keeping my outrage to the context of this issue, it's horrible and I hope this person gets educated and never does something like that again and at the very least they should be reprimanded somehow for the deed.

This woman seems to not be very understanding of the severity by the "just a cat" comment. Either that or she's very aware, doesn't care, and actually takes pleasure in causing such harm. In which case, she is seriously an evil.

But in the grand skeem of things, to your point, awful stuff like this happens all the time.

She could well be the type of person who would go on to work in a nursing home or hospital, and be the one to euthenise the old residents/patients because she couldn't be bothered 'cleaning up' after them, and think to herself, 'They were going to die soon anyway.'

One thing I have to say about cat haters, you guys sure go out of your way to seek us only to proclaim your contempt for the feline species. Did somebody give you cat feces wrapped in a snickers bar or something? Or is it that your insecure, you need that insurance you prefer an emotionally shallow animal? You see when you yell at a dog his tail will go between his legs, cover his genitals his ears will go down, a dog is very easy to break but cats make you work for their affection, they don't sell out the way dogs do.

It's funny that people are all up in arms about this and they own pets. Owning a pet is like putting an animal in prison. It's not natural to throw an animal in a cage for their entire life without letting them roam the way nature built them. If you were an animal what would you rather have? Would you rather go wherever you want and hunt when you want, or would you rather have your reproductive capabilities away while being somebody's personal toy?

I wouldn't throw a cat in the trash by the way, but if you own a pet you are probably doing something worse to that animal than what this lady did.

The problem here is, most domesticated animals (specifically cats and dogs) have been bred by humans for years. To the point where they are rather dependent on humans for survival. Look at any feral cat or dog and they're generally riddled with disease and/or injuries. Life expectancy is dramatically shorter than a household cat/dog.

The cat was boxed inside that trash can, and if it weren't for her meowing that led her owners to find her after 15 hours, it might have died eventually, or the garbage truck will load it into its cargo, where it could be crushed. I think it is safe to assume that that lady didn't care if it dies or not.

I own cat myself, I've had him since he was a kitten. Like I've said though it's a very mean spirited thing for the woman to do and she should face some kind of legal punishment. The reason some of us are trying to put things in perspective though and others are making jokes is because of how some people are overreacting to this.

She knew there was a chance that the cat could have been killed and didn't care, so her intention was to do something that was funny that put it's life at risk. That is indisputable, and that is what he was saying as well.

She knew damn well what type of bin it was, and what happens to them, she just didn't give a damn about that. the fact she looked around to see if anyone was watching her tells you she knew she was doing something that went beyond a joke.

People do things all the time that they think will be funny without fully thinking about the consequences of their actions, that doesn't mean their intent was for things to go as badly as they could. You hear all the time about pranks that go horribly wrong and main and sometimes even kill people, and more often the not the perpetrators will say it was just supposed to be a joke.

Her looking around simply means that she knew what she was doing was wrong and didn't want to get caught. It says nothing in regards to if she intended for the cat to die in there.

That's not to say that people who do such things should get off the hook, they should be punished. I'm just saying that you don't KNOW her intent was to kill the cat.
