Wonder Woman Costume Suggestions

i think like batman, she should have various costumes. she should wear sandals and battle skirt if she's fighting in themyscira though. I'm a little more inclined to her wearing pants and boots when she's isn't in themyscira.

I really like the Injustice: Gods Among Us Wonder Woman costume for a no-swimsuit look. She looks iconic enough and rocks blue pants. I'm not an enormous fan of the top portion of the costume, but I think it's a good example of a WW costume that works without being a swimsuit.

This is exactly why we get DC crapping all over the place trying to adapt their stuff.

How accurate are Marvel's superhero costumes?

The X-Men costumes have NEVER been faithful to the comic book versions. Wolverine is never seen in his yellow or orange suit. The Thor movie version is nothing like the Simonson version I grew up reading. Captain America's is different enough. Iron Man's suit is more like a bulky mech suit from an anime instead of the sleek armor from the 70s/80s comics.

And these are all rational choices I agree with.

Comparing WW's costume to PORN?:whatever:

That porn swimsuit is nothing like the classic Wonder Woman costume.

Yeah let's reduce an Iconic costume that's been identifiable for 70 years to a generic cat-suit that's been worn by every female action hero for 20 years, because an actress may show some leg.:wow: Oh,the humanity!

I never said they should use a generic cat suit. And you're naive if you think any top-tier actress would be willing to wear that tacky swimsuit for a feature length film. The classic Wonder Woman costume maybe. But not that T&A junk in that porn film. This is NOT classy or appropriate for a superhero film.

I guess Lynda Carter looked like a hooker, the Women's Lib movement were crazy to use WW (in her "swimsuit") as a role model and thousands of kids (male and female) were "perverted" by watching/reading WW.

The nonsense I read here,sometimes....

The Lynda Carter costume and that porn suit are nothing alike.

something allegedly being "iconic" doesn't mean that it will work today. You don't want your actress to be embarrassed to wear their costume. Look at Batman and Superman's costumes, heck look at the Marvel costumes, and then compare them to the so-called "classic" WW costume, it doesn't work. Also, people are talking about battle skirts or maybe pants, that doesn't equal a "generic catsuit."

G'day,

Lets compare.

Both women look magnificent. A celebration of femininity. They have the physique and very importantly the confidence to to do the swimsuit costume justice.

Now Wondy with pants.

The first TV pilot with Cathy Lee Crosby:

Adrianne Palicki in the 2011 TV pilot:

Both movies with pants costumes failed. They masculinize her and reduce her to another action heroine. Just about every screen female superhero wears pants. Wonder Woman can not wear pants, she is supposed to be... well.. a wonder.

However there is one big problem with the swimsuit. It looks silly. Especially if she has to stand against the MOS Superman and Affleck's Batman.

Here is the solution. Rileah Vanderbilt as WW in Rainfall's fan movie:

Yep, the suit needs some work. It needs to be cleaned up , sexed up a bit, and you probably want an actress with a better figure but something like that would work. She could easily hold he place with Batman and Supes.

Yes, because celebrating femininity means running around in what is pretty much a bathing suit. :whatever:

I haven't seen the CLC pilot but the 2011 pilot didn't fail because of pants, it failed because it was a horribly written piece of garbage that bared as much similarities to Wonder Woman as the Halle Berry Catwoman movie does to the actual Catwoman.

Yep, and if they knew what they were doing they wouldn't have put her in pants. When the pants suit was announced I knew it would fail.

A sexy little costume is what people expect WW to wear. Thats why women who hire WW costumes for parties get something like this:

The trick is to come up with something more realistic (at least realistic in a comic book movie way) I think I have shown that can be done.

Linda carter had those expressions which make her more heroic and less like stripper even with that costume she looked like a warrior princess not a seductress .

Exactly, Lynda Carter could walk into a church wearing a swimsuit and look respectable. As a model she wore swimsuits for a living.

The 2011 pilot even had sense enough to put her in the iconic costume in the end,and she looked fantastic.

That's a good point many people are missing.Carter played WW how she was meant to be.Obviously a quality actress would do as well today.

What? The same could be said about Catwoman but she didn't run around with her cleavage out like in Arkham City in TDKR.

Changes are bound to happen to not only sevice certain people who want it to be a bathing suit or a sexy Halloween costume. :whatever:

Yes, she's a princess from a race of immortal women isolated from the outside world for thousands of years, lets have her wear something that looks almost exactly like a modern swimsuit, that fits, not. She a warrior, a diplomat, and a demigoddess, lets put her in a swimsuit costume, that fits, not. Lets take the most iconic female CB character of all time and sex her up, that isn't in bad taste or disrespectful at all, oh wait, yes it is.

Emmm... no... it is because she an iconic character she must wear a sexy outfit. She has always done so. See her below from the first issue. Swimsuit or short skirt thats Wonder Woman wears , the same as Tarzan wears a loincloth not jeans. Lets not forget the only time WW has ever succeeded on the screen she had the swimsuit version.

What needs to be done is to turn her costume into something suitable for a modern movie. The leather/metal warrior skirt version does that.

^You make no sense. In the most recent version she wore pants and the bikini bottoms and it still failed.

Pants do NOT masculinze the character. What a backwards way of thinking. And nor do the panties make it a ''celebration of feminity''. I also can't take your statement seriously when you add later on that the fan film costume needs to be ''sexed up a bit.''
Why are pants SO bad? You can't see bare legs and her ass? Boo hoo. She's not a sex object.
If they put her in the underwear, fine, if they don't also fine.

You are right, she is not a sex object. She is a fictional fantasy character that has been around for over 70 years. Wearing feminine sexy costumes is what she does. Not pants. As to the requirement of the fan suit needing to be sexed up, I was thinking of Xena. I will admit that probably had more to do with the physique of the actress rather than the costume.

She's also worn pants though, sure, maybe not since day one, but the pants aren't THAT new either.

I'm not defending or putting down either, but it's a ridiculous argument.

I think the battle skirt is a perfect compromise. I'm surprised that everyone doesn't agree that it would be the best option.

Because some people are arguing that her outfit being "sexy" is the most important thing. Funny, they never make that argument with Superman and Batman, no one is clamoring for Bat nipples of Bat codpieces again. I repeat, being "iconic" doesn't mean that it would work for a movie. If the only defense for the swimsuit is that its "iconic", then that argument wasn't very strong to begin with. Again why would a princess from an ancient isolated race of female warriors who haven't interacted with the outside for thousands of years wear a costume that looks almost exactly like a modern swimsuit? I still haven't hear anyone give a good explanation for that.

I think the current outfit she has in the comics plus a battle skirt would be my ideal movie costume although I would lose the silver choker and the silver arm arm.
