Im more sold on WW now after seeing the trailer, my only concern however were the earlier rumors on the possible origin of the Amazons. Not sure if those have been disproved yet but personally I hope they don't go that route.

If you're referring to that rather stupid rumor of them having Kryptonian origin, then yeah, it has been debunked. Executive producer, Charles Roven confirmed that they are going for New 52 origin - Diana being a daughter of Zeus:

If you are talking about the kryptonian origin that was disproved. A producer said she's a demigod and daughter of Zeus

Good, good. Now adapt this.

Apparently the concept art shown at the head of the DCCU part of the panel showed Wonder Woman with WWII soldiers...

Not sure about a period piece. As Gal said I want a WW for today.

Whilst some elements of Azarello's run would be good (the modernized Greek gods), I'm not a fan of making WW the god of war and having her upbringing not be entirely uniquely influenced by females (instead again the strong male figure, War, is her teacher...bleh). Also that whole raping Amazons drabble.

Given her wardrobe and the limo in the trailer I'm guessing we're going back to diplomat from lesbo-er I mean Amazon Island to man's world. That could work, could be interesting.

I am stoked they are using New 52 Wonder Woman. I was never a huge WW fan until I read Azarello's run, omg, she is one of my all time favorite comic book heroes up there with Batman & Spider-Man for me.

I totally agree on that. I hope the WWII thing is just her origin, but the biggest part of the movie takes place in the present.

I agree with you on everything, except her being the GoW. I think it's very, very interesting. Her Ares training, the sex piracy thing, and all that, i'm with you. The story lost a lot of steam towards the end and the First Born was bland, boring and flat. His whole motivation was him being a little crybaby. So yeah... dont adapt the story straight up... but there's a lot of things they could take from it.

Where did those Kryptonian rumors start anyway?

I don't require WWII Wonder Woman. I'd prefer not, as Gal said a Wonder Woman for now. The problem is how the original Wonder Woman dealt with the theme of isolationism and current events are not enough to get people shaken up and think outside of themselves. Syria? Not our business. Ukraine & Russia? Nope! But WWII and the Nazis, drop your isolationism for that? Oh hell yeah, it's universal.
Now I don't bemoan people who don't think we should intervene in those two situations and forgive me for getting this kind of political, I am only trying to apply some context. But first and foremost I am tired of WWII it is tried and true, but enough is enough. I find it as a crutch when you're out of ideas. Now if they can take the isolationism and apply it to some fictional event within this setting dealing with Superman or Luthor, great. They pulled it off in the JL animated series with aliens invading - not great, but it worked.

I think someone speculated that the Amazons may have been descended from Kara after she crashed on Earth thousands of years ago.
They got that from the prequel comic Goyer wrote, right? I don't think that was ever canon

I wonder how they will explain WW's absence from the Superman/Zod battle in MOS.

we know that Bruce was in Metropolis, but how come WW didn't get involved when the aliens showed up.

Was she forbidden from interfering?

Not even joking... I hope AquaMomoa is the one driving the car we see her get into.
I wonder if that's the bugatti people around set said they saw. Diana's probably got more money than Bruce

I'm more curious about how they are going to explain her homeland suddenly appearing out of nowhere.

I still say that it just went down incredibly fast, and there were circumstances perhaps that we'll learn of in the solo that would probably also factor in. It's really no biggie.

Huh? Seriously... Huh?

Probably the whole mystical power of the Olympian Gods cloaking it for centuries like always? Maybe? Same as Atlantis being a myth from the bottom of the ocean until AQUAMAN makes his public appearances.

It's never made sense in the comics, and that doesn't make sense now.

It was Jett from Batmanonfilm. He even posted the WW pic last year as proof that she was going to be Kryptonian.

Oh... Good times debating that... Wait, I really meant I wanted to stick a fork in my eye every time someone thought it was a great idea that was realistic and helped to streamline the universe.

Those people don't deserve a live action DC Universe!!!

It was good idea, it's just irate DC fans couldn't accept it.
