By "iconic" I meant the one that everyone thinks of when you say "Wonder Woman"...

I know the new costume is a variation on it and the basics are all there, but it will never be the first "version" of the costume that springs to mind when you think "Wonder Woman"... same goes for the 2010 costume.

Mind you, the new photo from the pilot that was released showing Diana holding the doll shows that she MUST have at one time worn the above costume! I wonder if she'll make reference to her costume change as an "in joke"?

Oh okay. I haven't seen the 'doll pic', but maybe it's just some bizarre joke of how 'silly' things are? Like a promotion within the story? Anyway, yeah I'd like to see this, but I'll be more excited to see her in a classic warrior-garb, complete with that Greco-Roman battle-skirt , fighting off hordes of crazy mythical beasts or something.

:oldrazz: what? I likes me my warz...

The current suit is, as you've said, kept the fundamentals right, so this leaves me wondering (no pun intended) - would a more 'classical' costume simply mean the old tiara and the star-spangled hot-pants?

That I'd love to see! But sadly I doubt we will at least not this early.

To be honest, I think you nailed it on the head - it IS simply the old tiara and star-spangled hot pants that would make up the "classic" costume... Mind you, if she did have the "classic" hotpants and tiara, I wonder if people would be happy? It seems you can't please everyone!

There are parts of the costume I'm not sold on, but I'm willing to give the series a chance. If it's a piece of crap, I won't watch. Simples. But I'm not gonna write something off before I've even seen it.

I know :( But hey, maybe somewhere down the line. If it were a CW production and SV continued I'm sure I'd be the first asking for a Darkseid invasion of Themyscira. :oldrazz:

I know what you mean... if we did have the hot-pants people would go on to say how she's running around in a proverbial bathing suit :( And now it's too '****ty'. I swear there will always be someone complaining about something. I showed the 'toned down' suit to this friend of mine and he (somehow) equated it with jeans. And I also heard how the 'longer pants make the stars more visible' and that's a bad thing because it makes her 'too American'. Right.

I'd also love to see the classic tiara (the one that points up both ways :D that's the classic for me).

Exactly.

I think if anyone writes off the series before watching it simply because the costume doesn't fit in with what they had in mind - that's just ******ed. Especially as what we see in on set photos will probably look SO different on screen! The feminist in me loves the idea of WW in trousers, it's just the execution that isn't quite right. The material just isn't working, but then again, I'm wondering if the material works better visually on screen... maybe that's one of the reasons they got rid of the PVC... perhaps it didn't film well?

But yeah, Wonder Woman + trousers =

I really hope there will be some explanation as to why her costume has changed... it seems in the script *SPOILERS* she mentions she's getting too old to wear the star-spangled hot pants!

Wonder Woman recives a small one (wo)man stealth jet that can hover with a card attached that says, "From your biggest fan"

There. The origin of the Invisible Jet. The fan can be anyone. Let speculation begin.

Yup, what we've seen on some poorly-shot pics will probably be very different and very believable from the end-result which will have gone through post-production and all that.

As for the trousers, well, I'll just say that the costume works in the context of a more urban-centric Wonder Woman story instead of a rich, fantasy-laden fable. Though to be fair, a true adaptation of the character would be able to balance both worlds together. This is one of the reasons why as particularly being a fan of WW I'm excited to see how Thor ends up as. They're both very alike when compared to other heroes, so I'm excited to see how that works out. I'm not a big reader of the Thor comics though.

Bruce Wayne :o

But seriously, if the Invisible Jet goes through a down-and-about 'origin' that doesn't include the Amazons, I wouldn't mind the Lansarian origin from the modern comics. Myndi Mayer is allegedly present so I guess we'll see more of that publicity angle somehow.

Julia Kapetalis would also be a great inclusion to the series. Which, by the way, reminds me that we have yet to hear more about the true Amazons. Where is Philippus? Hippolyta? Antiope? Io? Or even Nubia? We need those characters. Artemis, despite her popularity, could be introduced with the Bana-Mighdallian Amazons at some point.

BUT Y'KNOW WHAT I REALLY WANT TO SEE?

GALENTHIAS *****es! Yeah! :D

OOH! I like this one. They can could have an episode with her discovering some alien technology in the form of a large silvery ball that can transform into a variety of shapes. It can be telepathic AI and essentially be Jarvis from Iron Man. However you would have to give it some limitations like size & complexity.

It could be carried around in the form of _________

Her tiara doesn't look er...boomerangable. A CGI clay formation would look incredible cool if it was a high budget movie, don't think they can pull it off on TV.

I'd like to see Lynda Carter in a cameo.

Just a cameo? I'm hoping for her being cast as Queen Hippolyta (which would be a minor role anyway seeing as how this new series will have Wonder Woman based out of LA). If not as Diana's mother then at least cast Lynda as The Goddess Hera...so if Wonder Woman ever exclaims
'Great Hera' she would be referring to Lynda...

I would love to see Lynda as Queen Hippolyta, mainly because it would be perfect casting as Lynda is GORGEOUS... but part of me thinks the new show needs to stand on its own two feet and detach itself as much as possible from the old series. So many people are (unfairly!) comparing the new show to the old one (before it's even aired!) and Adrianne to Lynda...

All IMO of course :-)

Either way, when it comes to Hippolyta, either Linda needs to play the role or Lucy Lawless. But those two are a must to appear sometime in this show.

I get Linda, obviously, but why is Lucy Lawless a must?

Because shes Lucy Lawless. She was the closest thing we got to a WW in live action during the 90s as Xena, plus she would just kill in the role.

Maxwell Lord ? After all, she turns his head...

Well lydna already mentioned she wanted to appear in pilot. But due to other things she is during while filming is going on now she isn't able to appear. But I am sure they will get her on the show. Hopefully will be a good character.

So this isnt a real comic image or anything, I drew it, but its something id like to see. Diana coming down with the lasso in her hands.

^^That's nice. Me, I'd like to see Themyscira. And why you may ask? You kidding me? Armored Supermodels! (haha, got it from the animated movie).

Lol..to funny! Well I feel Themyscira is a given. They plan on casting Artemis for a flashback scene, so I'm assuming we get to see Wonder Woman's homeland!
