Kakuro's pretty much a combination of Saduko and Crosswords puzzles...a Cross
number Puzzle, if you will.
It's just like a Crossword puzzle, but instead of clues you're given the sum of all the numbers in that particular line. Each line uses the digits 1-9, with no repeating digits.
For example,
If you have a line that's 2 spaces and has a sum of 16, you know that the two numbers have to be 9 and 7, since that is the only combination of two single-digit, non-repeated numbers that can add up to 16. Yes, 8+8=16,too, but you can't repeat 8. Now all that's left is figuring out which digit goes in which spot. You will find this out with the help of the intersecting lines.
As a huge fan of math, and a great fan of both Soduko and Crossword puzzles, Kakuro is perfect for me. It can be very hard, and takes a lot of number logic to do.
