Work On 'Bond 23' Begins - The Official 007 Discussion Thread

I'm counting the Bond films that has been made over the years from QOS to World Is Not Enough. Bourne's 3 movies beat QOS, CR, DAD and WINE.

to be fair, man, Casino Royale was suppose to be the 'reboot' of the franchise, so you may to just include Casino Royale and QoS. However, I thought QoS lacked the punch it needed to be as good as Casino.

Well okay Casino was the reboot. But Bourne is more entertaining and interesting then Bond these days.

I agree with MiniBond. I'm not a fan of Bourne whatsoever. Bond, however, is always entertaining, even when the film is less than stellar (i.e. QOS)

what i am most excited about in this film is seeing craig actually playing Bond. Casino Royale was intentionally about Bonds begginnings but i think also so was quantum. i've found quantum of solace to be a far better experience if you think of it and CR as two halves of one film, similar to kill bill. QOS still didn't deliver us a fully formed bond character, he was still in spite mode durring most of it and it wasn't until the end that the problem of vesper and the otherman was finally tied up and in even just that short scene Bonds manurisms and attitude had already changed. He was calmer and less hotheaded. I think in that scene he had finally become Bond, which is what i think putting craigs first proper gunbarrel scene at the end of the film was supposed to represent.

Well hey, every hero or legend needs a beginning. So hopefully in the 3rd movie we will see Bond officially.

^Wrong. Every Bond Movie to date(with the exception of License to Kill) has made more than the previous Bond movie. Which is why with Bond movies, you can't gauge how good it was from the B.O but rather from ppls reviews. If we went by B.O money then DAD, which did better than TWINE, was the better film. But DAD is what prompted the studio to re-boot the franchise. So i believe they (the studio) are at least familiar with this process.

I hope they got the point that QoS was not very well received despite it making heaps of money.

DAD was bad man seriously. Halle Berry acting in the movie was just below average.

Oh, i'm not arguing with that my point is that it made more money than TWINE.

Quantum of Solace felt like the third act of Casino Royal, so I really hope they go in another direction.

How is what I said not true? Crappy movies make less. Good movies make more.

That is far from truth. GREAT movies every year are overlooked at the box office, while studio garbage reigns in big bucks. I dont even know who the nominees are but I guarantee the BEst Picture nominees this year will be better than Transformers 2 but not make as much money
