Comics World War Hulk: X-Men

While I enjoyed the issue, I’m finding it kind of pointless. Mostly because I would think that the Avengers, X-Men and Fantastic Four would have contingency plans to deal with the Hulk.

Apparently, I missed the issue where Hulk got the power to cause others to fight like freaking newbie.:csad:

Exactly. I mean Cyke is supposed to be a master technician, but yet there was no plan, just charging at the Hulk like idiots. You would think all the years of battling him they would learn.

Maybe they're just waiting for the Black Panther to show up.

We know HE has a contingency plan for every ****ing thing that could possibly happen in the Marvel U. :whatever:

Well, I guess you're not supposed to beat the Hulk in the second issue of a tie-in of an event called World War Hulk lol. I hate Marvel has to dumb down the rest of the Marvel Universe just to make sure the main character, in this case Hulk, shines. I mean, you have the most powerful telepaths in the planet (Prof. X, Emma Frost and the Cuckoos) and they can't make him dribble like a baby? Or even if he was impervious to psychic attacks, you have Reed Richards, Black Panther and Tony Stark and they can't come up with something to stop him... Everybody but the Hulk is looking like a wimp in this event IMO.

I wish somebody had a plan. Geez...all these supposedly tactical geniuses and not one of them can come up with a plan to stop someone whose only real power is to hit really hard.:whatever: :csad:

Excalibur ain't there, it appears Juggs came by himself. He sure got dealt with though :( Wonder if his little "deal" will be addressed in Excalibur. Can't believe Hulk squashed Colossus' hands like that  I am really glad that Wolverine got his ass beat, tired of him saving the day.

I hate the fact that they don't allow Excalibur to intergrate with the rest of the mavel universe more....

This is the Hulk's summer. Expect him to smash everything with minimal resistance :o

They said they were gonna isolate them from the main X-books. I didn't think they'd do this good of a job. :(

Why though? They have the potential to be a great team with the right writer.

Well when you've been simply "smashing things" for the last few decades, trying to dress that up into a good story is rather hard. So instead, they have people just line up to get smashed until October when Sentry fights back

Yeah, I'm done expecting any resistance from the rest of the Marvel Universe. Now it's just smashing around until Sentry kicks his ass or until he discovers it was Miek or the Brood who made the ship explode (lol I hate them so much :o) and kills them in the most goriest way.

You guys have to break out of the conscious thinking of the old Hulk, and see him as a steadily evolving character. If he went around saying smash this and smash that, puny humans, blah, blah, blah - you'd be bored of it after 40 years. With Bruce in his mind, and his war experience off world, it's refreshing to see him use tactics in his madness... And for once, he's not just a babbling, mindless brute.

Miek needs to die horribly

1. He's still just smashing things

2. His aggression towards She-Hulk, Xavier, and Hercules was totally ridiculous. He's still a raging beast, he just knows a few more big words.

All I know is that after this summer Marvel better come up with a d@mn good explanation for how Hulk could ever lose again if he can just walk right through EVERY SINGLE FREAKIN' HERO in the 616. :whatever:

For Real

Well, you have Superm... err, I mean, Sentry for that :woot:

*snorts*

Exactly how often did Cyke had a plan that actually worked in the past 10-15 years...? :wow:

Maybe he'll try pulling off that B.S. move he used on Silver Surfer. :whatever:

Regardless of the tactical moron and neutered Chuck angles, #2 still was a good read.

Why can't the X-Men just let Kitty phase the Hulk's brain out? He at least needs some time to recover from that.

I guess that it's too much to ask the writers to write characters who are supposed to use their brain, they are more experienced with writing characters dealing things with muscles and fists.:whatever:

This issue rocked. Yes, I read it a day late. I've been busy organizing my comics collection and trying to find the issues I've somehow misplaced. :csad:

Christos Gage has a great handle on the X-Men and how they'd fight. I want Gage on a freaking mainstream X title. And Di Vito, too. Now. Pronto. Spoons, make it happen. This little mini is just supposed to be an all-out fight between the Hulk and the X-Men, and it totally delivers on that. Characters written, you know, in character is icing on that double-decker cake. Yes, I think it's awesome to see a comic book devoted to all-out action (and I think the same of WWH, basically).

People need to stop whining about Cyclops not having the master plan to stop Hulk in two seconds. He's not Black Panther, people. :whatever: And if he'd been written like that, I wouldn't be speaking highly of Gage. I'd be trying to hunt him down and flay him.

Emma might have pushed Charles away, but it was the entire Astonishing team that made him back off. Emma blocking his powers is a tad off (assumedly she had the Cuckoos hivemind assisting, as she mentioned after). It's very simple. They protect him out of duty, but he doesn't control them or their actions anymore.

What should Cyclops have shouted out for battle orders? How many strategies do you have (or, more accurately, need) for a really big, angry monster that wants your mentor? "Hit 'im hard" seems like the best bet, and it's what he went for. Hulk's just, you know, a bit stronger than that (although it did rock that the push of Cyclops's concussive beam against Hulk's unmoving mass resulted in skin ripping off). And before someone whines that Cyke should have had distance, come on. What was he supposed to do, run away first? Hulk was standing in front of Xavier, and so were the X-Men. Pfft, come on.

My comment was referring to the bulk of the 10-15 past years and commenting how Cyke having any plan whatsoever when it came to tough cookies had become a rarity.

I'm not whining about how WW:X2 played out. Hell, nothing's stopping Green for a while anyway.

I know, I was referring more toward ssj_whoever up above, not you.

Silly. Sorry! :woot:

But Cyclops had a plan in Civil War: X-Men! Against the Sentinel! He called it "Fire and Ice" with Iceman. Because, you know, Cyke's power is fire.
