I see my point went over your head. As I tried to make clear, I wasn't talking about the one-dimensional replacement of a gesture over a button press (as you seem to be thinking), but rather how an advance in control scheme allows for the re-thinking of game design, the "shooting range" being an analogy. I've also tried to relate this discussion conceptually to the PC, where entire genres flourish because of the mouse. The RTS, for example, is a natural fit for the mouse but isn't conducive to an analogue control scheme, which may or may not be one of the reasons for the genre being underrepresented on traditional consoles. In the same way, a game like Zack and Wiki is a natural fit for the Wiimote but isn't conducive to an analogue control scheme. I could talk specifics, and if you should like, we can continue this discussion via PM. That's reasonable enough, I should think.
As for insulting Miyamoto, couldn't resist sneaking in flamebait, eh? What can I say? I'm through with the petty quibbles, but if I may say so,
I feel quite confident in supporting Miyamoto and Nintendo and letting their work speak for them
wow

. So yes, please do call Miyamoto "mediocre" and "overrated," you'll hear nothing from me.
