Worst Cases of Miscasting

No way, Cage was Gold in Adaptation and Leaving las vegas, two roles he was absolutely perfect in.

Now Ghost Rider, eeeehh not so much

Nicolas Cage in any movie he's ever done ever.
I beg to differ. But just because of his recent work, doesn't mean that you can downsize what he's done previously. I'm bettin' for one that you haven't even seen all of the films that Cage has starred in, to make such an outlandish claim like that.

When I think of Cage's terrible accent and hair due in Con Air I can't stop laughing. It's like they went out of their way to pick the worst possible person for that role.

Nick Cage in the movie where he punches out the chick in the Bear suit.

I'll take note to widen my Nicolas Cage horizons. Any suggestions? Because the only one I've seen that isn't recent is Con Air (his accent and hair were so hilarious I couldn't focus on his actual acting skill).

Gerard Butler in Phantom of The Opera - So for the part of an ugly guy who can sing like an angel, you cast a handsome man who can't sing at all?

Frank Langella as Perry White in Superman Returns. This is a guy who made Skeletor cool and he gave the blandest performance in a incredibly boring movie.

As bad as his accent and hair are in that movie, it's an amusing movie to watch at like 2-3 in the morning. That really is the best time for watching mediocre to bad movies.

I suggest you check out 'Adaption'. Really the standout of his career, in my opinion.

I tend to blame these bad performances on the script more than miscasting. George Clooney as Batman, Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor, and Hayden Christianson as Anakin, I think, could have worked with different directors and scripts. I recommend you see Good Night, and Good Luck, where Langella plays a similar kind of character, and absolutely nails it.

He was perfect and the whole ridiculous accent and hair was totally in-keeping with the over-the-top cartoonish tone of the film. I'm sorry, Cage knew exactly how to play that role and the film is all the more fun for it.

That wasn't 100% Langella's fault. Warner Bros. was quite cocerned with making Perry White look too much like J.J.J. and purposely toned down the character, making him into a warm, fatherly type.

The Rock is an above average action movie......improved by Ed Harris and Sean Connery

Zellweger in Appaloosa.

One of my biggest problems with that film.

Ben Affleck in Daredevil. He didn't even lose any weight for the film!
