Worst console ever?

No way, the Dreamcast was an awesome system. The first parties were great. It just never got the support it needed. The worst console? Probably the Sega Saturn. Unless you are counting hand held in which case Virtual Boy takes the cake.

Oh your kidding!! You had me with you right up until you said Sega Saturn. In my opinion its the best console ever, it was specifically designed as a 2-D game engine and with the use of a 4 meg ram cart you could switch between characters in the arcade perfect translation of X-men vs. Street Fighter. You couldnt do that in the sony version, plus if anybody has ever played Thunderstorm 5 (and the rare gold pack) Panzer Dragoon and Knights would tell you to eat your words.

All time worse system in my book??

Nes (Famicom), low 2-d graphics and had a major strangle hold on third party companies thus giving us a one player Double Dragon, and other laughingly absurd translations that would have looked better on Sega Master System.

Atari 2600

Although through tweaks in the way it adressess memory brought us Solaris, it sucked the same reason NES did, terrible graphics that would look better on an Intellivision (which was 16-bit by the way) or Colecovision

Panasonic 320

Come on! For the price I could have payed for thisd I could have bought a 32 bit amiga and had some money ovrer for some blank 5 inch ffloppies. Only cool game on it was super star soldier, and didnt have any game that showed off it's true power.

I know alot will flame me, but I think the Jaguar deserves an honorable nod to being one of the ebst if not underused, you should what many homebrew developers are doing with it nowadays. Jeff Minter has done some amazing work with Tempest 2000 play that game youll be hooked.

The Atari Jaguar and the 3DO were both lame ass horrible systems...the Virtual Boy was pretty lame too.

The Dreamcast? I loved that thing. I still have it with a slew of games. The best system for 2D fighting games. Marvel Vs. Capcom 1 & 2, Capcom Vs. SNK 1 and 2, Street Fighter Alpha 3, Darkstalkers Chronicles. Not to mention Resident Evil Code Veronica, Shenmue, Phantasy Star Online. The system kicked ass.

playstation.......I know people wont agree with me but hear me out

my hate of the ps1:

the damn load times: some of the games had god awful load times that i could get the mail and have my christmas shopping done before some of those games loaded(i <3 my n64)

the graphics: most of games had charcters that reminded me of a box of legos i mean the n64 was not perfect but at least things that were suposed to be round were

the controler: i dont really have a reason for it but i just dont likie the dualshock meh.............

the company: i dont like sony they are moneygrubbin' punks who think as long as their name is stamped on it, thinks evryone is too stupid to see their con,,,,,,,,,,damn nintendo why did you create this monster why.........

There was one thing Jaguar had that alot of game systems didnt. If you play Tempest youll notice this little difference. Jaguar had the power to show smooth shapes as they came closer to your screen, not even pc's could do that. Even the atari 7800 had true tracking and scaling, something of which did not show up in home consoles until the super Nintendo. There is an entire homebrew movement dedicated to the Atari Jaguar console.

By the way, the Saturn controller was the best controller ever.

Playstatiom 1 version

The Gamecube.

It's saving graces would have been RE4 and Zelda: TP, which I would have considered it's only good games, but both of those titles got ported.

Your hate of the Playstation is rather....stupid if you ask me. The graphics were great for it's time. Late 1994. And the Nintendo 64 came out over a year and a half later than the Playstation, it's graphics are obviously going to be better. Everyone hates load times. I loved the controller of the Playstation but to each their own. And your criticism of Sony is lame. Sony isn't a monster, it's just another corporation that's designed to make money. Just like Sega, Nintendo, Microsoft, Atari, etc.

Though you're right on one thing:
Nintendo 64 > Playstation

Love or hate Sony...I am surprised the PS1 was mentioned. I remember going from General Chaos and Street Fighter II on Genesis, to Twisted Metal and Crash Bandicoot on the PS1, the upgrade was astounding. Sure the graphics look blocky and dated now, but at the time it was going up against blurry 16 bit 2D sprites. I personally thought the PS1 was awesome graphics wise for the time.

I won dispute that the N64 blew a lot of the early PS1 graphics away with games like Mario 64 compared to Crash Bandicoot, but N64 came out later, and when the PS1 first came out most of us were switching from 16 bit systems to it. I also think the PS1 had a far better game library, but that's all down to taste.

The purple lunch box was realy under rated, Some of my most favorite games came out for that system.

The Sega Saturn even though how much I love it had to be the worst money wise, but I liked it still.

Gamecon was pretty crappy
I dunno, as a kid I honestly enjoyed everything, even Virtual Boy. Obviously now Virtual Boy gives me a headache, but man back then I was so entranced by it. That one flying game was badass.

I never played any of the Genesis add-ons, which are probably the worst.

Dreamcast rocked hardcore. GTA2 on the Dreamcast looked miles and miles ahead of GTA2 for the PS1. Sonic and Crazy Taxi and Marvel Vs. Capcom. Awesome

I wish I still had my Dreamcast.

I think it was more for shock effect bc I cant honestly see how the PS1 could ever be mentioned here

I still play My Dreamcast and your right, most Hard Core game system I have ever played! I have about 48 games for mine and 563 hacked games from NES and SNES. XD

Super Mario Sunshine Crap.
Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door Not a fan of Paper Mario
Metroid Prime Overrated
Metroid Prime 2: Echoes Crap
the Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker Kiddy Crap
Resident Evil Crap remake
Resident Evil 0 Actually this wasn't bad but other RE games were much better
Super Smash Bros. Melee Not a fan.
Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes Crap remake.
I forgot Eternal Darkness, which was an amazing Gamecube game... but unfortunately, even with that, it's still the worst console. Even the Sega Saturn had it's "NiGHTS".

Metroid Prime is crap?

GET OUT :cmad:

Seriously though, I understand it's your opinion...but how can you consider something as great as that 'crap'? ;_;
and urm, Zelda is kiddy crap...? :'[

Oh, and I'll count others to add to hippie_hunter's post.
Mario Kart Double Dash
F-Zero GX
Rogue Leader
Luigi's Mansion

I considered those too, before electing the Gamecube. None of them were good of course.

Like I said, RE4, Zelda: TP and Eternal Darkness.

The rest = :down

What...what the hell is wrong with you

Shenmue- crap. I will agree that it did a lot of new ideas which other games did much better , so it gets props for that, but it was mostly poorly done.

There was a resident evil game - a total rip off, set on a ship- crap

WWE Royal Rumble- acceptable,, but eclipsed by the smackdown games

UFC- can't remember if this sucked or not

RE: Code Veronica- decent, not the best RE, but PS2 got the superior version a year or two later.

Sonic Adventure, Jet Grind Radio, Skies of Arcadia, Ikaruga, Power Stone, Power Stone 2, Soul Calibur, Space Channel 5, and just about ever arcade game worth playing.

You can't tell me F-Zero GX is crap. That is one of the most hardcore racers ever made.

Outside of the obvious ones, like Virtua Boy and the Jaguar, my vote goes to the Genesis. That console was a cruel, cruel joke. It had tons of fantastic games, but the controller made it impossible for me to enjoy any of them. Sure, Mortal Kombat had blood on the Genesis, but I could never pull off Fatalities using that three button set-up, so what was the point? Oh, and if there is one thing I really regret, it's bugging my parents for a Game Gear back in the day. It cost some exorbitant sum of money, ate batteries like there was no tomorrow, and crapped out on me in under a year.
