Worst Moments in Comic Books

The Question said:
I can see the issue now.....

Diana wakes up after passing out drunk in her quarters at the Justice League christmas party.

"......uhhhh. By the gods. Why did I drink that....."

She looks down.

"....why am I naked?"

Later, in the hall of Justice......

"Clark, how could you do that?!"

"Well....Bruce...c'mon..."

"I thought you were the boy scout!"

"She didn't technically say no, so....."

"Clark. She was passed out. You raped her. You. Raped. Diana."

Clark stands there in silence, shamefully.

".....HONKHONK!"

Standing there in silence....Batman finally looks back up at Clark
"Yeah but seriously, what was it like tapping dat a$$"

"Ah man Bats, she was tight dude...oh it.was.amazing...she likes rough too"

"Sloppy Seconds??"

"You know it bro.....hey don't forget the Super roofies".

Suggestion for worst moment - The entire "Crossing" storyline in Avengers. It gave us Tony Stark as a teenager, the Wasp as an oddly mutated creature, Mantis as a villain, and the much hyped deaths of such "pivotal" players as Crystal's nanny, Gilgamesh, and Yellowjacket II who was just returning home after having finally become interesting in Guardians of the Galaxy. The only good thing to come out of the whole Onslaught/Heroes Reborn fiasco was that it's end also set things back the way they had been before, even though that wasn't properly explained until it started bugging Kurt Busiek enough to go back and write an explanation.

I haven't. Yikes, I remember when all the Spidey-fans flipped out once when Peter Parker was shown wearing nothing but a towel in his apartment once about a year or so ago.
? Why? It's not like that hasn't happened before over the last 20 years. When I got the Origin of the Hobgoblin trade, not only did it show him wandering around in a towel, but it showed him in the shower with the water drawn to cover his buttocks. He also was in a few poses that looked like the T&A poses that you would normally see drawn for a female comic character.

Well, I'd imagine that when males are shown in less than a three-piece suit, they're not described like this.

Question fellow hypsters,

You guys remember the silent month where all comics couldn't have dialogue?Did any of them end up pretty bad?I remember DD #28 of the Underboss or Out arc being pretty well done.

Most of the ones I recall were of pretty high quality, how ever I still didn't enjoy spending $3 per book and reading each one in a minute.

I don't mind writers choosing to experiment with silent issues, but I didn't care for Joe Q. FORCING everyone that month to do a silent issue.

I agree. If one book had done it one month and another a couple of months later, fine, but with the push for it being everyone, it left me feeling like I had nothing new to read. Plus, after several books, the novelty wore off and it didn't feel very clever anymore. It's like the night NBC forced Mad About You, Friends, and whoever else was on Thursday nights to deal with a lame blackout. Too much influence from TPTB is hardly ever a good thing.

Spidey had evil mimes... It was seriously ****ed up.

'Nuff Said Month.

Yeah, it was okay I guess. I remember a lot of writers being mad that they had to do it.

"I bet she likes "going Greek" too, huh?"

"I don't follow you."

"I meant, she likes taking it up the a**. You don't know what "going Greek" means?"

"Dude, I'm a farmboy from Kansas. Down on the farm we say "going piggy"."

"Oh, dude!"

"Dude!"

"DUDE!"

;) :D

Killing Ben Reilly! And then insult to injury act like it and baby May never happened...Oh and then brining aunt May back after a great death.

After reading the Batman/Superman conversation making light of a serious thing like rape, I have one thing to say:

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!! :D

Yeah Curry we've seen how you "use it"

Remember that time we found him with that scrod at the bottom of the ocean

Guess we know what he uses that "fish telepathy" for huh Clark

Oh,man...not that I have anything against meaningless T&A,but that was pretty offensive.Frankie has some serious issues with women.

Two things made me laugh,though:

1.The fact that ASS SHOT is in all caps.

2.The realization that Miller has some kind of obsession with the paring of "goddamn" with "Batman".

Frank Miller doesn't HAVE serious issues with women, Frank Miller IS serious issues with women.

My current theory is that Frank Miller's mom was a prostitute that was raped by a catholic priest. That would explain everything.

He was raised in Montpelier, so somehow I doubt it.

Incidentally, he wrote like one story that counts for two by that criteria; Daredevil: Born Again. DD's mom is a nun. Weird how that worked out.

Also, Major Force, whom I was talking about earlier, is like a worst moments machine. He pretended to kill Kyle Rayner's mother and stuff her in an oven. Turned out to be a mannequin, but still, how lacking in originality is this guy that he copies off of himself?

My pick for absolute worst moment? Why, I'm delighted you asked.
Bringing back Bucky. Why? Because I'd thought he was done pretending to be Robin.

It's called a Madonna/****e complex for a reason.

I loved 'Nuff Said month.

Especially the New X-Men issue by Grant Morrison. A trip through Xaviers twisted psyche completely silent, only visuals to go by. Though Morrison cheated at the very last page when he gave Jean a line of dialogue. Very well done though.

I also enjoyed the Iron Man, Spider-Man, Daredevil and Elektra issues for 'Nuff Said month.

I didn't think I'd like the idea of Bucky coming back either, but it ended up being very well done.
