Worst store you've been to?

Hahahaha,

Well, I went for this job when I first moved here, I got hired and all, and when the manager asked when I wanted to start, I said can we start Friday? (It was Wed) for at the time my wife didn't get paid so we wouldn't have gas money.

He paused, and told me to go home. =/

Plus, Wal Mart is down right evil here, and all rude. There was time I asked a manager to see if they had any other products back there, and I knew they did for it was the meat department, and he said no and went walking on his way. =/ What a loser, for the next person that came up yelled at him, and he went got for them.

That's the last time we shopped Wal Mart, and have been free of them for 2 years now. Thank goodness, it's a zoo.

I went to gamestop one time because I bought a Morrowind Game of the Year Edition but they gave me the regular edition. I'd never played the game before and felt this was an easy mistake to make and that I'd get my money back and what not.

So I get there and say I want the GOTY edition since I paid for it. The dude was like "It's a crappy game anyway'

I wanted to go "**** and get the game" but I didnt.

I would say Radio Shack. I don't like to be hounded while I shop. If I have a question I will come to you & ask.

That used to bother me when I walked into a store, but then I realized the workers are just doing their job. They'd be getting **** from their boss if they didn't ask.

The worst stores that I've been in are these little convenience stores out in the middle of nowhere, that if the people inside don't recognize you they'll give you a stone face the whole time. It's creepy.

One time my friend and I were driving up to Sacramento from LA taking highway 1 for the views of the coast. We stopped somewhere in the middle of Cali for gas and spotted a store named "Hookers". We were young and dumb and got excited (19 is young and dumb, no?)... and so we decided to gander.

It was a bait store...

we drove away quietly.

That's False advertising! Those son of *******!

Worst store I have been to lately is our local Bed Bath & Beyond. Last two times there the employees have been zero help and the lady at the register was a complete *****e. So much so that my wife had to get a gift for a Bridal Shower on Friday, she saw that same *****e at the Register and went to a register that had a longer line just to avoid her.

Yeras ago, in my early teens i used to go to a rental place run by a guy who like, decided what i could and couldn't watch... Once i went in and asked if they had Ghost Dog... He said "Yeah... But you don't wanna watch that.", i say "Uh... Yeah, i really do." "Nah, that's the one where he uses guns like swords? That's crap. You wanna rent this!". Then i think he tried to force some crappy movie on me like "Dude, where's My Car?"

Heard he went outta business last week. Gotta say, i'm suprised it took so long.
Still haven't seen Ghost Dog. :hehe:

truth. When I worked at "New Balance" it was the same. You had to walk up and talk to customers otherwise....blam....you're not doing your job.

I have never gotten hounded at any store in my life though, just the occassional "may I help you?" in which my reply is always "no thank you, just looking". It never goes beyond that

and I actually enjoy it when employees offer to help

you know these movies are for sale? You can buy them for the same price it costs to rent them

just saying

Oh no, I don't know that, would you please kindly point me to which direction that a store may sell them?

I've tried that~ no store seems to have them.

Blockbuster in Houston at the corner of Westheimer and Wilcrest. Went to several Blockbusters looking for Madden '02, it was new at the time. Finally found one, but it wouldn't play. Ended up in this store because they said they had a copy, but when I got there, they didn't. The clerk made some dumb excuse and went back to something he felt was more important, just blew me off. So as I walk out, I say, "Yeah, yeah, f*** you, too." The next thing I know, I'm in my car and he's at my window ready to fight. I ended up driving off and reporting him to his manager.

A Citgo station. I go in to buy use the restroom and buy a soda. The 20oz. Coke rang up at $1.59! I mention to the Indian lady behind the counter that this is the highest price I'd ever seen for a soda, aside from a a hotel vending machine. I tell her the store down the street sells them for $1.39. The man behind her then tells me, "I give it to you for $1.49." I leave telling them I'm not going to wheel and deal over a soda. Have never gone back and give them the finger everytime I drive by.

Just so you know... In many South Asian and Middle-Eastern countries haggling is a sign of respect. When you commented on their price of soda and how high it was he was probably trying to show you respect by offering to haggle.

Way to be culturally insensitive and flip people off for trying to recognize your complaints and give you a bargain though.

How could I forget, PC WORLD!

Took 3 hours for them to give us an IMAC after they sent the wrong details.
Not only that, we tried to finish payments, but they said they have nothing to
do with payments, the bank they dealt with would. But the bank is in the UK somewhere and they kept messing up and so we contacted PC WORLD who told us they are not dealing
with that bank anymore due to a falling out on business terms. So now we have to set up other deals with the bank to pay them, because they are being dodgy with payments.

Wal-Mart.

Some parts of it have apparently been commandeered by youth gangs, people leave their kids to run wild and play sports in the aisles, all kinds of scary people wandering around...I hate going to Wal-Mart.

I would've tried that but I preferred to buy them from a store.
It's not as if I am in any rush to see them any time soon.

yea, most stores don't carry old dvd's. You might have luck at like a KMart or Walmart, but mostly, amazon or bestbuy.com are the way to go

I've worked at Target for a year now and let me tell you something. Don't hassle the employee working just because he asked you, "Can I help you find something", etc. It's our job, and if we don't ask we usually get talked to because we're not providing great guest service.

Two places I hate to shop are Wal-Mart and Gamestop.

At Wal-Mart it's just extremely scummy, I can't even describe.

At Gamestop the employees act like they know everything and don't treat guests with respect.

they wouldn't give you the job because you wanted to wait 2 days to start?

That's insane, employers are suppose to give you at least 2 weeks from the hire date to start (incase you're leaving a previous job)

I would've been all up in dude's face raising all sorts of hellfire for telling me to go home

Well, I'm glad *someone* does! I work for a Shoe Dept. at the local mall, and we have to talk to customers or get threatened with being written up. "It's not optional" as the DM told us. But I really don't mind....most of the time I like meeting new people and trying to help them out. It's the ones who are yakkin' on their cell phones and what not that get me. We have to talk to you , whether you are on a phone or not. I am not getting fired because you can't even *pretend* to be civil for 2 seconds and acknowledge me. I actually had one of these people when I asked her if she needed help with anything say "believe me, if I should ever need your help I will come over and get you....OK!?!" So naturally after she hung up her phone I get "miss, miss! Can you come over here now.....*please?!?*' Ugh :o

I have always disliked going into Staples, but that's only because I can't convince them that they have people who will work on MAC's. When my laptop's hard drive died like 4 years ago, I called this guy at Staples and he actually told me they worked on them (well, sent them to a place to be worked on.) He said to bring my laptop in. Well, I bring it in, and walk up to the computer help desk....the damn manager asks what I am doing with my laptop, that they don't work on them there. I said, yeah you do. That guy over there called the tech people and they gave him an estimate and everything. Instead of walking over and talking to the guy, the manager proceeds to try to get my Mac to boot and over and over and over again. And it won't cause the HD's dead! Duh! So finally after about an hour of this and me constantly telling him that the tech guy said to send it cause they will work on it, he calls the tech guy. Who told him exactly what he told the first guy!! I love Macs, but there isn't a single other place that will work on them in this podunk little town... :csad::csad:

I worked in the pharmacy at CVS for a while. The store was good, it was the customers that made it so bad.

"Oh hi Mrs. Jackson, you just want a refill?"
"Yes please."
"Okay well it looks here that you want to refill your prescription of oxycontin..?"
"Yes please."
"Well Mrs. Jackson you just had it filled two days ago.."
"I'm out now."
"Yes but it was a three month supply, there's no way I can bypass the program and refill these, I can fax your doctor okay?"
"Why won't you give me my drugs."
"I really can't do anything, if I filled these it would be against the law."
"Why are you treating me like this!"
"I'm sorry Mrs. Jackson...I am for real."

Most of the time I feel bad because these people were in pain and actually needed the meds. But a lot of times you would just get addicts who would try anything to get a script filled.

And just some jerks too. I'd have lines literally going back to almost the front of the store to pick up. I'd have a line going around the building at the drive through, and another shorter line waiting to drop off. Just me and the pharmacist and people still had the nerve to be rude and act like I'm not doing anything. Like I'm being lazy and just sitting on my butt.

One guy even wanted to go out in the parking lot and fight.

I guess it's like that at any pharmacy though from what I hear. And the good customers did make up for. I had regulars who would bring me cookies and saw people being lame, so they would always try and cheer me up.

In terms of a chain of stores, it has to be Wal-Mart. Their products are often low-quality, their customer service is rarely acceptable, and they treat their employees like crap.

The worst single store I've ever gone into is a Roses that is two blocks from my job. I can't even describe how bad it is in there. It's dirty, there are chunks missing from the floor tile, the light bulbs are always flickering or out, many items aren't priced, many racks/shelves are empty, the clothes look like things that the Salvation Army would discard. Most of the brands, regardless of product type, are companies of which I've never heard. I can't imagine anyone going there regularly.

i once went into walmart on a tuesday to buy a new release dvd cheap. it was 7 at night and the woman hadnt stocked the shelve because she was busy gossiping. i asked her if the movie was in one of the boxes and she said she would get to it soon . i walked around the mall for an hour and when i came back it still wasnt put out , she put of a hanful of things i noticed but was still talking to another employee . i asked her if she came across the movie yet and she told me to "come back tommorw" . what a lazy c-word.
