Worst store you've been to?

I don't get how Gamestop can sell opened games as new. Why in the world would I want to buy a brand new game that's been opened??

Yeah, I hate this practice. I went the other day and was going to buy Ghostbusters for the PS3 and they were giving me their last "new" copy which was open! I was like, uhh, that is not in new condition. I just went ahead and took a used copy instead.

For the most part it's Gamestop. I like the employees but damn they're a bunch of cheap b******s. I might as well keep my damn used games then sell it to them for a dollar. Then you want to buy a used game there and it's 5 dollars less than a new game.

Wal-Mart. Even this one they just built near my house feels like it's been around for 10 years by the way it looks inside. Ugh.

Used games are killing the gaming industry. Each used game sale does not count towards the total sale of video games. What happens is that each video game that is sold and resold makes NO money for the game developers. Its like all of us buying one video game and then sharing it, except in order to do this we pay money to a game store.

Said game store makes money hand over fist for these games because there's virtually no overhead and the markup is huge. Trade in a game that is two months old? Receive 15 dollars in store credit. The company then charges 40 to sell that game to someone else.

I will say this...having been to every state in the continental US, and most major cities...comic shops are the worst.

The employees almost never know anything about the business side of things, shipping dates etc (even for their top sellers) and more often than not they are either rude or ignore me.

Worse yet...I am ALWAYS looking for indie books...I will go in and ask for a string of titles that they never carry in an attempt to fill the wholes in my collections. Then, after dashing my hopes for Stray Bullets, Madman, Strangers In Paradise and Beanworld, they ALWAYS recommend Ultimate X-Men or something equally silly to me, completely ignoring that my interests clearly would not lead my to want that, and if I did Id already be well aware of its existence.

Well, books are late often these days, shipping dates don't hold too much weight anymore. The comic stores I hate are the ones that are called comic stores, but when you got in there's a bare minimum of comic and everybody is just playing heroclix or magic or something like that.

Anyone buying a used game from Gamestop is a moron, since you're not getting a deal. This past year I've actually bought 3 games from there, the most I've actually shopped there in the past 10 years or so. Although it's been because of the deals on new games, bought Banjo Kazooie there, cause it was the only store I could get the free code for Banjo Kazooie on Live Arcade, then got Guitar Hero: Aerosmith new for $10 and Bionic Commando new for $20, both games actually cost more to buy used.

The used games at Gamestop are a good deal when they do their buy 2 get 1 free deal and if you have the edge card you get 10% off of that. I usually try to get the newer games in that deal so that they average around 33-34 bucks each which is a big difference from 60 bucks each new.

Gamestop is good for me, at least for tracking down GBA games for my DS.

Truth in that statement. I buy online mostly or I buy from a local indepenant retailer.

EB Games pre-merger was my go to place for video games. The Gamestop where I am is OK.

But Wal-Mart is the worst store in the history of ever. :down

Worst store I've ever been to was a sex shop.........did you know every toy is non-refundable after it's been used?

Worst store ever is a furniture store in Milwaukee called Colders...

I just bought my condo, and was moving in, in about 3 weeks, so I needed new furniture.. having a child, I decdied that lether was the best option due to constant drooling and dropping of food (he was only 1 at the time).

so, I get there, and find out they are having this sale, where you buy one item, then get half of what you spend, to spend on another item.

well, one of the salesmen, this short little italian looking guy, kept on bugging me, wanting to show me different sofas, I was like "I'm fine, I'm just looking, I'll get you if I need anything".. but he kept following me like a god damn vulture waiting to attack. I just ignored him...

so, I was looking at their leather section, most were ugly as hell, looking like something you would find at a old style high end hotel... i wanted something contemporary, but nice...

well, i did find one sofa and love seat that were pretty close to what i invisioned.. it was a black sofa that was about $1800, the loveseat was $1750. so, the little annoying guy comes running up to me.. and we talk about pricing options with the sale, the best being to buy the sofa first, then get 900 back to put towards the loveseat, and get that for 850.. the only catch is having to pay two seperate delvery fees... which isn't a big deal since it was only 40 bucks more... well, he tells me then, that the sofa needs to go on backorder because there's none left, and it will take 3 to 4 months to get in.. I told him "can't do, because i have no furniture and I need something in no more then 3 weeks".. he then looks on the computer again, and says he can locate one and get it there for me on the day i move in... perfect...

well, I only paid for the sofa that day... I then came back a week later to pay for the loveseat (many in stock), but when I gave her the sofa sku# so she could match the correct loveseat, she said she couldn't find that model.. she does more searching, and goes "oh, that's because you bought the floor model".. the sofa everyone has been farting on, and getting their snowy shoes all over... normally, I wouldn't make a fuss, but this was my first new peice of furniture, and I was spending nearly 2 grand on just the sofa... plus, all the floor models are reduced priced anyways... I think that sofa should have only been 1200 for the floor model. I called over the salesmen and he told me he can get me a new one, just takes 3 to 4 months... I told him, i want the sofa for the used price, and he said he could do that for me, but then I wouldn't get that half back deal, and have to pay full price for the loveseat, which didn't have a store model.. also, the ringer was, the sofa reclined using a motor on each end, and the right side was noticably slower then teh left... he said a floor model could be fixed, at my expense... can't get a warranty either on the floor model...

after I learned that, I said, give me my money back.. they gave me a refund... i walked out.. I was then bugged nearly every day for a week by the salesmen trying to get me to come back... he even said that he located a new sofa that I could get by my move in date... heard that one before...

gamecrazy is head and shoulders better then gamestop

better trade in prices.. used games are cheaper... and they are freaking idiots at the store...

got Dead Space for my 360, but luckily i got a warranty on it... little guy scratched the hell out of it... took it to game crazy, where they just took the disc and handed me a new game, wrapped up and all... I then took it to best buy, said I forgot the receipt... 60 some bucks back... I do that all the time now... why trade the game in?

Yep, but that didn't stop you from buying that G.I.L.F. doll, did it? :o

The Wal-mart near my house is very nice. As long as you go during the day you see normal people. You go at night though, rednecks and families with 8 kids come out of the walls. The other wal-mart in town though is dirty, and the weird people are there 24/7.

Wal-mart isn't the worst store in history that would be K-Mart. Their bathrooms have poo on the ceiling, works are drugged out of their minds, and for some reason everything costs more than wal-mart.

Everyone I went to had workers that we're lazy and half the time weren't even in the store. If you ever wanted to buy a game from there you had to go near closing when the workers were selling their stolen games out of the trunk of their car.

Gamestop pre-merger was always great though.

Anyone remember Funcoland? It was Gamestop before Gamestop.

I remember when I was 11 my mom went next door for 5 minutes to pick up something and I was alone in Funcoland and one of the workers kicked me on the street because I had no money.

I was just browsing. Yeesh.

I used to love Funcoland. They sold me a lot of M-rated games as a kid.

Did anyone mention Big Lots? I'm afraid of getting mugged by the employees whenever I walk in there.

I love Big Lots.....I've bought some great home decor stuff there...just little things that I then dress up more for my apartment. I also buy most of the decorated boxes there that I use at Christmas. Our Big Lots is actually really nice.

I'm not saying they don't have great deals there, they do. Most of the ones here in Georgia are owned by gangs I think.

I said Big Lots. I felt icky.....

And with Wal-Mart, I get the redneck weirdo's in the morning, and the normal people at night....

stop talking smack about GameStop. GameStop is the best. Oh yeah, i so hate Walmart and theit great affordable prices.:oldrazz:

There are stores that are way worse like craft stores and stotres that sell silverware and dumb little nic nacs. Fabric stores really suck. i want to kill myself when im in one.
