Would Rap/Hip-hop fit in Guitar Hero or a GH insiperd game?

Yea, im not a fan of rap, but like it or not its a HUGE part of the music industry, so its only fitting that it would get a GH type game. With that said tho, i dont know how itd work and be fun(for those that enjoy the genre).

I absolutely hate Rap "music" but if I were a CEO I'd be crazy not to cash in with a rap-themed music game. A singstar-style rap game could be a pretty big hit.

I agree with the first few posters. Rap sucks and it sounds ******ed. Not to mention it's called GUITAR Hero. Last time I checked most rap/hip hop didn't require to have much talent with actual music instruments. It just required someone to rhyme really fast and with illiteracy as well.

It wouldn't work too well, man.

All you'd have is a mic, a spin table, and some blunts. :o

*Not trying to be offensive at all*

I rap for a living, and I dunno if I'd like a game like this or not.

I mean, turntables are ridiculsouly hard to use, but if they had some gangster ass **** like Tech N9ne and E-40 and other fastass rap, I'd definatly be down.

Wait, some of us have said that we hate rap and no one has called us racists yet
This is a first for the Internet

Maybe if it was like beat mania, with rap beats...some Dr. Dre, RZA, Easy Mo Bee, Doom, and other industry beats that you had to hit the beats/snares/hi-hats etcetera on time, similar to the way GH's controls are used, maybe it could work, but I dont how well it would catch on.

If it was a karaoke style game for rapping verses on time and what not. That might work. Sing-Star status.

I'm a rap fan and even I wouldn't think this would work.

To the people who said that "rap sucks" I can understand your "distaste" for rap music. Everyone has their own likings. However it's a much more ignorant statement to generalize the content of rap music to be infused with drugs/guns/girls. If you're going to say "rap music sucks" you should AT LEAST say mainstream rap sucks. Your quarrel is with mainstream hip hop, not the "whole" of rap music. There are plenty of intelligent, highbrow rappers that actually rhyme with significance.

I want people to really understand the difference because you'd be pissing 99% of rap fans off by saying "rap music sucks," whereas if you had said "mainstream rap sucks," then 99% of rap fans would agree with you.

Name me 10 highbrow rappers that actually rhyme with significance off the top of your head, go.

I think rap is okay, but every rap video game that has come out (all five of them) has blown ass except for PaRappa the Rapper.

Anyone remember Get on Da Mic?

Didn't think so.

You cant name ten high brow rappers. Name 10 rappers that not everyone's gonna like, or gonna be "eh" about. In todays days, rappers that are out right now and young - I dont think there are ten rappers that actually rhyme with significance.

Ten rappers from the past decade or so, I could name a few. But, they are all 30 and up. I was thinking about this game the other day and I dont think it would really work well. Just throw "Walk This Way" Aerosmith and Run DMC on there to appease the hip-hop fans.

Haha my cousin has that game, you could basically scream into it and half the time it would register you as being on key and hitting the lyrics.

Older mainstream rap is pretty good. Tupac and Biggie were both really good, Dre and snoop dogg were both good way back in the 90s, etc. But today, yeah, it sucks. It's a caricature of itself.
