40 something year old Batman and 30 something year old Nightwing works great IMO. But again that's my personal preference, I understand why some people think he should be younger than that.

    Batman (40 something) > Superman (30 something) > Nightwing (20 something).

Man, that was weird to type.

Found a great post in an old Teen Titans thread. I just have to quote it here:

The pic is from Komodo ('98)?
Let's look at another one from the same time.

There's a special Burt Ward element to him that's especially evident here.
Has 60s Batman and Robin affected us that much? Are we stuck in the belief that Dick Grayson must look similar to Burt?
I guess I am because I think this is exactly how a new Robin should look, and Chris O'Donnell was totally the wrong actor for the part.

Honestly I didn't think O 'Donnell was bad, the writing was bad.

There were actually some really good Bruce/Dick moments there. .
**** it. I love Batman Forever.

The movie would've benefited from a darker tone, and less campy villains, but I love that movie.

That's the thing, tone down TLJ and get Jim Carrey out of spandex and Forever would have benefited so much :hehe:

Dude Jim Carrey could've been an amazing Riddler. I already like his Riddler, but if you tone him down, he would've been perfect.

Same with TLJ, whatta waste. He was too lighthearted. I still love the **** out of this scene though

For the mods before i get banned or something: i was of course talking about this Marvel Character:

    http://marvel.com/universe/Nova_(Richard_Rider)

As for why this is relevant in this thread, well, its an example of how both companies can make name choices that maybe arent that good.

There's not much that I don't actually like about the film. Insert Burton's soundtrack and take out all the cheesy parts, which were a LOT, particularly from the villains, and you would have had a strong film. But still, I like what we got.

Chris O'Donnell was way too old. Bruce isn't a father figure to him, more like a mature older brother.

yeah, they established that in the movie that they were more partners or brothers than father/son. bruce was still his mentor but they were a lot closer in age. i think it worked well. another robin that age wouldn't bother me

I personally expected him to be about 22. Old enough for hearts to flutter in the audience but young enough so that he thinks he knows everything and Bruce still needs to train him

I think this is the medium you want. Although he shouldn't need much training still since he has already struck out on his own.

Maybe coming to Bruce for advice occasionally when he hits a brick wall on solving a case, but he should be a highly competent fighter and detective already at 22.

IF it is McNairy, I'm glad they've made Dick older. It'd be good to see him established and doing his own ****. Perhaps, if the rumours were true, he and Bruce aren't on great terms for some reason.
And something within the movie, ends up with them making amends. Maybe they'll make a solo Nightwing movie.
