Sequels Would you change Spidey's costume???

I noticed it right away in the first SM2 teaser. I like em a tad slimmer

Interesting though, the black costume's eye pieces seemed to be the biggest ones ever.
For the black costume's eye pieces: I can understand if they're big because in the comics, they were always big. I'll post a picture if I can find it.

Here's the comic picture of black Spider-Man: http://www.mikereeve.com/wp-content/uploads/2006/04/symbiote.JPG

The black costume seems inconsistent to me. This one has thinner/more angled eye pieces: http://moviesmedia.ign.com/movies/image/article/781/781306/spider-man-3-20070417024828417.jpg

That's one of the few things I liked about the movie's black suit; the changing eyes. Very cool :up:

i dont' see why they would need to change his suit at all. in part 3 we had a variation of it with the black suit, if they go the route of the comics and have lizard and morbius in part 4 then he could have the extra arms, and anything involving electro would probably require him to have an insulated suit, which may or may not look any different. spider-man 2 then would be the only film where he would have his normal red and blue suit the whole film. there was plenty of spider-man unmasked in the prior films, i dont' see any need to keep removing his mask in future films unless it MAKES SENSE to

And at this point, I'd say no armpit webbing. That's one of those things that works on the page but would look stupid as hell in real life.

If aint broke don't fix it...just tinker with it. Fine tune, if you will. :D

Keep the current general design. I would just thin the webbing (and make it flat black for once, no shiny silver), make the eyes bigger and shaped more like the classic look (never liked the small, really sharp/angular eyes).

After that, just make the red and blue more saturated (I really don't know why they had to mute the colors so much on Spidey and Superman in the movies in the first place) and boom...perfect!

Although...I wouldn't mind seeing the first Ben Reilly costume at some point. Whether it's actually on Ben or not doesn't matter. It's pretty sick looking. Alex Ross' black and red design from the first film also would be nice, one day...

armpit webbing would be great if it had a purpose.

say he added it for additional lift and time in the air when facing the vulture. we see similar things on skydiving suits all the time, i don't think it would come across as silly and also it helps shows spidey's intelligence for improvising.

The difference between the two pictures is that the first is the CGI spidey and the second is the costume itself. They probably had one black spidey costume design and the CGI one was a bit off

CGI = Computer Generated Image (in case someone is wondering)

That's more a Batman or Spider-Woman thing. Spidey never used the armpit webbing for anything other than decoration-nor would I want him to, in light of the other 2 characters I just referenced.

Oh...I see. LOL...Didn't know that Spider-Man was CGI in some of the scenes, except probably when he web-swings.

That's fine as i'm not attempting to convince you.

i'm giving a plausible explanation for their usage on screen. If they are to be used, they should be there for a reason rather than aesthetics. providing additional air time to think and move against aerial agile combatants is good thinking.

i've always associated spidey as being the master of adapting and using his surroundings and webbing in unique ways to get out of situations. SImilar to how jackie chan always uses his surrounding everyday props as unique weapons. The films have yet to show any of this.

anything would be bonus.

I like the idea

I always liked the pitwebs.

The explanation becomes null when these supposed air lifts have gaping holes. :funny:

I would like to see the 2099 suit, minus the cape. Not the whole movie, maybe he just runs out of spares and decides "What the hell" and changes it up. I just like the 2099 suit, probably my second favorite, behind the original.

EDIT: Ben Reilly costume would be cool too. And I wouldn't say no to Scarlet Spider, or a modified version. The hoody in the comics looks 90's.

Nothing about the 2099 suit says "Spider-Man". Plus, Peter never wore it. That'd be like having Bale in the Azrael suit.

That depends on the artist, though. SOme draw it like a little net & others as a solid piece of fabric. But yeah-the gaping holes poke a hole in the theory. Which is why I'm against the idea of them bringing web parachutes or web-shields into the movies.
I just think it would look really stupid if he was falling & all of a sudden he stuck his arms out & his descent was slowed by these sheets that don't even come past his elbow. He's not a flying squirrel.
