Carter isn't going to tell the fans in a press release. I'm sure there will be some reference, just like they did with the first X-Files movie, about what happened to them. Its been said for years that any sequel would be a "monster of the week" since a lot of the fanbase was soured on how the mythology ended. If the movie does well they can have a sequel in time for 2012...

High res versions.

I think some age worked well for her. She was in her twenties when the show started and she was always one of those women that came off older than she actually was. Now it looks like everything is in step, and she looks like a MILF.....or she just had some work done. :) Let's just say..."I want to believe".

I hope this movie is good. I watched the show from about season 2-6 and I know X-files had basically 2 types of episodes....Those that added to the mythology of the alien invasion and conspiracy, or those that were a side story where Fox hunted vampires, sea creatures, ghost..or whatever. I may be in the minority, but I always liked the side stories more. I think the excessive alien mythology of the show with unanswered question after unanswered question is what drove myself and many viewers away in the last season or two. The last episode even seemed like a race to tie up loose ends, and it of course didn't satisfy those that waited all of those years.
So I'm glad to hear this will be a stand alone movie. I would even like to see the show come back to TV and take that route permanently.

Ya know, the more I think about it, the more I think this was probably one of the best shows of the 1990's.

I don't think so. Chris Carter said something to the effect that the events go down near where Mulder and Scully are, and they get swept up in it.

^^ Someone has a job as Gillian Anderson's ass patter. :wow:

Personally, I liked X-Files the best when they were doing the "Monster-of-the-Week" stuff anyway.

I agree, it was much more fun to watch instead of the conspiracy stuff. don't get me wrong some of the conspiracy stuff was cool, but I liked "monster of the week" aswell.
