Well, I want to believe has been a sort of philosophical motto of the TV show. It´s not just the matter of Mulder convincing Scully of the paranormal or the aliens. It was about the search for God, for the spiritual. It means we feel the urge to believe, but we shouldn´t, necessarily.

i love the title.. im stunned the studio approved it lol

I think the theme of believing is very fitting, from the title to the tagline in the trailer of "Believe again." Audiences lost a little faith toward the end, as did principle cast members and even the characters to some extent. I think Fox has something really great on their hands with this movie.

What's the deal with the subtitle? Who asked for this movie to have a subtitle anyway?

Meh I don't really like the tittle, but whatever. I doubt anyone is going to use it, I guarantee most everyone is going to refer to this movie as just plain "X-Files"

the new title sounds weird to me...maybe I'll grow to like it once I see the movie.

Wonder what this means, rated R, X-Files?

David Duchovny:
"Yes, a lot because I think there's a lot of extra gore. We're not just shooting a PG-13 version.

More like an unrated DVD release. For its DVD release, Fox will probably release X-Files: I Want to Believe like AVP 2: R -- one disc and two-disc unrated director's cut versions, and a dual-sided widescreen/full-screen rated version. The Blu-ray will most likely have the unrated cut only.

Hopefully they release both at the sametime and don't try double dipping us. Cause I would probably wind up buying both if they did. :(

The X-FILES 2 Plot Revealed!

THE X-FILES 2008 MOVIE NOVELIZATION MMPB
by Max Allan Collins
Mulder and Scully are back in the thrilling novelization of the summer 2008 blockbuster movie based on the classic X-Files TV show! When a group of women are abducted in the wintry hills of rural Virginia, the only clues to their disappearance are the grotesque human remains that begin to turn up in snow banks along the highway. With officials desperate for any lead, a disgraced priest’s questionable “visions” send local police on a wild goose chase and straight to a bizarre secret medical experiment that may or may not be connected to the women’s disappearance. It’s a case right out of The X-Files. But the FBI closed down its investigations into the paranormal years ago. And the best team for the job is ex-agents Fox Mulder and Dr. Dana Scully, who have no desire to revisit their dark past. Still, the truth of these horrific crimes is out there somewhere...and it will take Mulder and Scully to find it!

When I read the word "abducted" I immediately thought the plot would involve aliens again but that doesn´t seem to be the case.

Sounds good to me! I can't wait to see X-Files 2 on the big-screen.

"Wintery hills of rural Virginia"

I live there, and I really wish they had shown up to shoot some stuff on location while I was home on break. :(
