i did...
i loved it, through and through. scary, funny, dark, suspensefull, and has that great monster of the week feel to it.

it wont win any oscars, but for pure X-Files entertainment it doesnt get much better than this.

I'm shocked at how badly this movie has done at the box office.

Obviously Batman is a huge factor, but still....don't release your movie against Batman. That's surely a basic bit of Hollywood logic.

Well, considering I'm only a moderate X-Files fan with only moderate knowledge of the show...

I did not like what happened to the Scully/Mulder relationship. I liked the unique platonic male/female partnership they had. The lack of it in the show allowed only the main material to stand on its own. I think that the inclusion of the romantic Scully/Mulder relationship (also, notably, seemingly ambiguous) in I Want To Believe distracted from that main material.

The villain wasn't nearly as extraordinary as I was expecting. I was looking for something more (such as a government cover up, aliens, etc.). It wasn't enough to keep me really interested. :gray:

Had this been an episode of the X-Files, I think that I would have enjoyed it better. I believe I just went in with expectations that were too high.

I made that mistake with Fight The Future....had low expectations for I Want To Believe and I wasn't disappointed......what a mess Chris Carter has done to The X-Files.He should never be allowed another script,movie or television production ever again.....:gray:

I gave the movie a 9. I was cringing and squirming in my seat the whole time. It reminded me of how scared I was of the commercials when I was eight years old back in 1993. Chris did a great job of getting the nostalgia out of the way early on in the film, and then getting down to business. Definitely not a bad movie, by any stretch of the imagination. I hope Fox continues to make more. Hell, is Saw, Fast and the Furious, and other crap franchises can keep going, a quality product like The X Files deserves its sequels as well.

I've been a fan of the X-Files since it first started, and to this day I am still a fan of the series. Even though the poll results are negative for this movie, I think I'll give it a chance and go see it in theaters.

It's probably just the fact that one is interested in X-Files anymore. It's been how many years since the show ended? Plus it's only got a 33% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

How do you know this? Not all movies that do poorly domestically do well on DVD. Especially ones that struggle to make over 20million. I don't know anyone personally who has the DVD of John Carpenter's Vampiers or George A. Romer's Land of the Dead.

Not that anyone really knows how this movie will do once it's on dvd, but the X-Files dvds still sell consistently well, despite the fact that this show ended 6 years ago. I'd wager there are quite a few people that will wait for the dvd. Plus, it's entirely possible that when it came down to it for some people, seeing TDK was more of a priority than seeing X-Files. Some casual fans (or cheap fans for that matter) may be deciding to just wait it out, and buy it in a few months. I'm a huge X-Files fan and even I'm considering waiting for the dvd if it means I have to choose between a possibly disappointing sequel to one of my favorite shows or seeing TDK again.

It's slow and boring. I can't recommend it.
