X-men 1 imo is the best of the triolgy

X-Men is probably the truest X-Men film of the trilogy. I don’t think it’s quite as fun as X2, but it’s not obnoxious like The Last Stand. It has a solid story, with the best character development of its main players, and it stays true to the heart of the books’ themes and better avoids some of Hollywood’s formulaic crap that catches up to the sequels. It’s not without its flaws—its biggest being that it doesn’t push things far enough. It also fails the fundamentals of some of the characters like Storm, but it no where near reaches the unfortunate levels of inventiveness of characters like Phoenix. Still, it’s not a bad movie, and, despite the hurdles it faced, it’s probably the truest X-Men movie thus far. Go figure.

Totally agree with the above
