X-Men DVD coming out in October?

They better give us those bloody scenes they cut! And a 1 hour behind the scenes section to explain the reasons why!

I wouldn't hold my breath.

This will be a single-disc release...with barely anything on it. They will then double-dip 8-12 months from now with an extended 2 disc "Director's Cut"....and then the Platinum edition will come out. :o

Don't believe me? Look at the latest offerings from Daredevil, Elektra and Fantastic Four for reference.

And also I Robot, Day After Tomorrow and now Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

They shouldn't make a box set with all three films. This doesn't deserve to be anywhere near Singer's films.

I agree. I just hope they don't... :p

Oh, I'm already planning to just get it off Netflix and have my brother-in-law copy it for me until they release it again. I'm so sick of these DVDs coming out twice.

The X-fans complained enough with X1's dvd, which warranted a X1.5...i hope they don't forget that we don't like getting screwed over the first time around :p

As if they care. Hence the aforementioned movies. ;) :p

And 1.5 was released just before X2 was in theaters. Does this mean they'll wait until the 'Wolverine' movie to release the 3.5 or whatever they're planning?

I hope that news is true and if so that was quick but I would buy it.

Someone tell FOX they dont need to rush the DVD like they did the film. If it takes them a few more weeks to put something on it then so be it.
Yeah, someone will get right on it.. :p

Garfield, I Robot, Day After Tomorrow, Elektra, Daredevil, Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

Those are just a few of the instances where Fox has released a barebone DVD, then rolled out with a 2-disc edition months later...

The director of Mr. and Mrs. Smith commented last week that the reason they did a director's cut (besides FOX double-dipping) was because with all the press around Pitt and Jolie, they never got to do screenings where he could make changes and have his final cut.

Since X3 is the same situation (Ratner made 5 original cuts and they picked 1 to release... he never worked on improving one definitive cut because of time restraints), I'm hoping that we really do get a better cut of the film that has more footage and better editing (even if it is a double-dip later on). Loved the film, but still hope this happens.

I thought they stated that there were hardly any scenes that they cut and that there was practically nothing left to add to the movie.

Forget extra features...I want extended versions of X1 & X3 (X2 is long enough...) :)

Yes, it was well written, but hey, I wouldn´t mind to see more X2 too

I read somewhere that Ratner had said that the DVD will have some extras but that it won´t be a director´s cut thing....I am still hoping to see more but I am starting the accept that maybe the sad truth is we will be have some bloopers and a couple of scenes like in my X2 dvd ....sad, sad

I think it'll be a very basic DVD

Definitely. I expect a few deleted scenes, a commentary by Ratner, and the behind the scenes production footage (which will probably be Ratner trying to get a sneak peek into Halle's dressing room.) :O

Ratner said 30 seconds was cut from the film. He lies. :marv:

I hope not, the Halle´s dressing room bit....I do not want to see how she struggles to get into that plastic suit and then she put the wig on....

That'll be the first release of the DVD. A few months later, we'll get an 'X'-tra Special Edition (I wouldn't be surprised if that's what it will get called), with all the bonus features and extra footage. Maybe a longer cut too.

It would be nice to see Singer step in and "Fix" the mess. A "Bryan Singer"s Director's Cut". :)

For the record: I DID have many issues with how Halle protrayed Storm in the films. That having been said, I HAVE NO PROBLEMS SEEING HOW SHE STRUGGLES TO GET INTO "THAT PLASTIC SUIT".
