X-Men DVD coming out in October?

For the record: I DID have many issues with how Halle protrayed Storm in the films. That having been said, I HAVE NO PROBLEMS SEEING HOW SHE STRUGGLES TO GET INTO "THAT PLASTIC SUIT".

For the record: I am a girl and beside this fact, the idea of seeing how Ratner is spying on Halle while her face is red due to the effort of glueing that plastic stuff to her body is more than I can stand without laughing out loud....I could stand it if it was Hugh of JAmes (of course, james would be trying the suit for the promo pics only) ....

I thought they stated that there were hardly any scenes that they cut and that there was practically nothing left to add to the movie.

I remember them saying that there weren't any full scenes cut except 1, but that some scenes were trimmed and edited (but we've had confirmation from actors that that isn't the case).

My reference to X3 was because instead of screening the film and editing it so that Ratner could create his cut of the film, due to time restraints they put together 5 different versions and chose the one they thought was best.

The differences in the 5 cuts (that the actors have commented on) were scenes placed in different spots for better flow, alternate versions of a lot of the dialogue, Rogue not taking the cure, a romantic sub-plot between Bobby and Kitty, alternate endings for both Magneto and Beast, and the deleted Bar scene. And that's just the stuff confirmed by the actors (everyone else has made lists of other differences).

But yea, the point is that Ratner never had the opportunity to go back and create his final cut of the film- the same situation as Mr. and Mrs. Smith, which got that director's cut just recently because of it- and even though X1 and X2 never got "extended/alternate cuts", its a little more possible with this one.

Isnt the commentary with Bret, Zak, n Simon the only thing that was confirmed? (The podcast on creative screenwriting magazine's website confirmd it)

I wouldn't hold my breath.

This will be a single-disc release...with barely anything on it. They will then double-dip 8-12 months from now with an extended 2 disc "Director's Cut"....and then the Platinum edition will come out. :o

Don't believe me? Look at the latest offerings from Daredevil, Elektra and Fantastic Four for reference.

I disagree. I'm expecting a 2 disc edition of X3 in November as well as a single disc one. The same as what they did for the X2 DVD release. We know Ratner has filmed his "2 hour" behind the scenes stuff and scenes have been cut/changed. I doubt Fox will release a barebones single disc of the movie. This is the final film of their biggest franchise(by comparison FF, DD and Mr and Mrs. Smith were the first films in potential franchises). I think they'll go all out and try to capitalise on the buzz while it's still strong, especially seen as it's out in time for the Christmas market.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we'll get Storm's Alcatraz wave inserted back into the DVD cut of the movie as well as some deleted scenes and behind the scenes features/footage.

I'm looking forward to the 2 hour behind the scenes stuff. Should be interesting.

I hope when/if they include the deleted scenes, that they are actually inserted into the flow of the movie, like extended cuts or different editions of the movie. i hate when they're just stuck on in the extra features bit.

They better give us those bloody scenes they cut! And a 1 hour behind the scenes section to explain the reasons why!
Well said, they need to make up for the weak theatrical cut.

^ cheers. As it is I'll prolly end up buying X3 when it comes out...just because I love Xmen, and I need an "ending" to the saga...even if it was under my expectations. Still got to see at least some Pyro...a few saving graces there!

Care to explain?

I doubt a trilogy box-set will be coming out any time soon. I mean, it might do, but I just don't see them doing it. If a Box-set does get released it will probably only be one of those cheap ones where they have just took the 3 single dvds of the movies and put them inside a cheapo card slip box.

Or like the 4-disc collection, which of course, is just X 1.5 and X2 in a box that's falling apart as we speak.
