X-men: Evolution

Just like the other animated X-Men thread I've been meaning to watch this again. I thought it would have gone another season and it was disappointing how abruptly it ended.

To bad they never got to the events they showed us in the last episode where they flash fowarded a bit.

But to this day I wish they had made Storm a teenager with the rest.

Agreed. Why was it cancelled anyway? Or did they just run out of stories? I thought that it showed a lot of promise for future story arcs in the last episode.

I enjoyed having Storm as a teacher. I don't know if I would have liked her as a student.

Probably cancelled due to production costs or the show not being owned by the network which are two reasons shows that still have plenty of life left in them get cancelled early when ratings aren't a problem.

Checking the end of last episode again, it seems they meant to end the show the way they did with the end of Apokalypse, then those flash forwards

Evolution had potential, but it was rather limited by the whole "teenage X-Men" theme. It's hard to focus on saving the world when you have a bed time and need to go to school every day. It got better in later seasons.

Seemed like it could have gone places if it hadn't been canceled.

It's a Marvel cartoon that did what Silver Age Marvel were aiming at, make superheroes as human as possible, I like that approach in making them students in a regular high school

I actually HATED this show when it first came out but I decided to check it out late last year because everyone told me how great the show was.

And it turns out they were right but I understand my hatred for it in the past.
The first season was great, introducing the mutants and their stories and how they join the team.
The second season must have been the one I caught here and there, for me it had way too many filler episodes that not an ongoing arc until the last few episodes.
Season three by far my favourite as it was when they had been revealed to world and they were dealing with the prejudiced whilst combating the "evil mutants"
Season four was OK, again too many fillers considering it had what 9 episodes and it was supposed to be dealing with apocalypse.

All in all a great show, I loved the nods they gave to the fans. Episode with the original five, the new mutants etc.

Episodes of other stuff between the Apocalypse fight kinda hurt, wish those were happening before the big fight

The show was incredible.

The first season was pretty bad, but somewhere in the middle of season two, it picked up big time and by seasons three and four, it was rising up way above anything the original X-Men series did.

Too bad Wolverine and the X-Men couldn't hang in there as long because it was picking up tons of momentum and it had the potential of being an even better show than Evolution...

Last info I had was that WB which hosted the show bought DC and so they began hosting only DC stuff....

I was neutral when this first aired. I didn't hate it or compare it to the 90's series. It was pretty good. The ending was a little meh but still good.

Anything with Gambit in it is always better than meh, lol.
