Who would you cast for other characters in XMFC2? I actually can't think of anyone, so get those ideas going t:
I really want to see Phillip Seymour Hoffman in an X-Men film.
Jeremy Irons for Sinister in the third movie.
or Vigo Mortessen (too high profile, maybe, but who knows?)
or Jon Hamm as last option. Would be interesting to see him playing a badass villain.
I know....
but not all the young actors have to have 20 years. Matthew should show an age different between characters, specially when the day they introduce young Scott, Jean and Storm, so Havok, Beast and Banshee will look older than them, and would seem believable someway.
Jeremy Irons for Sinister OMG YES.
I really can't see them bringing in Quicksilver or Scarlett Witch (or Polaris, really) unless they're planning on making them completely unrelated to Magneto. I can't see this film version as having any children and I feel like suddenly revealing "surprise, not only are you a father, but a father of TWINS! MUTANT twins!: doesn't translate well to the big screen the way it does in comics. It would be too much of a soap opera, last-minute retcon move. Remember folks, TWO HOURS. They don't have time to dedicate too much of that time to family drama. If Erik had children, a wife, I can't help but think that Charles would have brought up those memories during the satellite scene instead of one when Erik was 10 and celebrating Hanukkah with his mother.
They need more adults if anything imo. I understand because of continuity that the original X Men are that young but besides them I would rather they keep the new X men round the same age or older.
Havoks gonna land himself back in Jail if Polaris is that young.
what would anyone think of the idea of Polaris, instead of his daughter, being the result of Shaw's experimenting on him (not necessarily a clone) but maybe him played with the idea of injecting mutant DNA into a pregnant woman or some form of artificial means such as that
which would allow her to be late teen/adult at this time...
Yeah I like Polaris and hope they put her in. But Id rather they wait if they cant do her right. Shes a good character.I know.... its a complex issue, damm
Im really interesting in the Alex-Lorna relationship and in the connection with Eric too...
they dont have to reveal she is her daughter at all, just adress the possibility and make him/us believe she is, but at the end to deny it all, in a smart way.
A good creative team can pull this off easily, so it just depends on them.
yeah, but it feels like "second class" seems the best moment, since in the next ones it will be time for Scott and Jean.
And Polaris was one of the new additions after the original 5, would be a cool nod to the comics to include her in the sequel, specially since Havok is on this new "franchise"
Michael Fassbender will have 36 years on 2013, when the movie will be shooted.
realistically, he could have had sex with a girl around with 20 or so, that girl doesnt need to be a girlfriend from the past at all, he had something with a girl during a short time, and that was all.
But if they dont want Polaris to be his real daughter, they just can adress the possibility but denying it at the end, as Ive said. It wouldnt be so hard to write a subplot like that. Matthews team can do it. And they dont need to give Polaris's arc many screentime at all, some scenes here and there during the movie and it would be fine.
And since Matthew didnt want to add more than one new character, Polaris would serve a double plot, the new girl of the x-men, and someone with a possible familiar connection to Eric. And she would protect the x-men a few times in a possible final battle with the brotherhood. It would be really interesting, in fact, to see someone with the same power as Eric fighting with him. It would create some tenssion, for sure, specially being a girl much much younger than him. I would pay twice to see that, lol
Im afraid Fox or Matthew arent interested in the family connections of the characters, but in my opinion this issue would bring something totally new to the franchise, and specially to Eric's character. We have seen Magneto on four movies already, its time to bring something new on the table.
Just a thought
Your ideas could definitely work. It would still leave us with a very young Polaris. Also like you said the family connections probably wont be a big part of it which I have to agree with. I dont see them going that route.Michael Fassbender will have 36 years on 2013, when the movie will be shooted.
