Sequels X-Men Live-Action TV Show in Development at Fox

many of you are being unrealistic expecting fox to give disney or more accuratele Perlmmutter everything he wants just to get one TV show approved.

Fox is business too and that's a very bad deal for them giving away FF,what is left of star wars rights, and any share in X-Men merchandize just to get one tv show approved.

As i have said i will believe an X-Men tv show will happen when i see it.

So giving away a toxic asset which costs Fox money and has never been profitable? The Star Wars rights are valuable, I'll give you that. And how is Fox taking a cut of X-Men merch valuable? Marvel stopped producing it altogether. Fox make just as much money off of those rights as Marvel do, which is to say that they don't make anything.

Episode 4 home video distribution is literally the only thing of value at Fox. The other things are most certainly tradable.

Would anyone be afraid of Fox getting more rights, though? I mean, Singer can't be around forever and, if you see most of the films he's not involved with, well... it doesn't really bode well for the franchise.

Marvel, on the other hand, should be keeping the franchise alive. I mean, there's a chance it'll fall back on their lap someday.

I guess I just hate to see greed ruin one of our best pieces of comic book literature. Definitely my favorite comicbook series of all time.

I would say it would be win-win for both the studios and the fans.

Marvel is not getting back the X-Men rights anytime soon so can't do anything with their X-Men TV rights, but could use the larger universe that is included with Fantastic Four and insert them in the MCU. Fox has completely killed any value of Fantastic Four to themselves and any future film would certainly lose tens and possibly hundreds of millions of dollars, but could profit off of an X-Men tv franchise that they would own as well as use it to expand their existing X-Men Cinematic Universe. Win-Win.

I don't think they'd treat the property right. Writing comic books, creating marketable designs, it could be more artsy than Fox could handle.

Marvel isn't going to give up the entire X-Men IP. And 20th Century Fox is not in a position to handle the entirety of the IP because they don't have a comic book publishing unit and are forced to license their IPs to other publishers like Dark Horse, IDW, and Boom.

With Marvel developing another network television show, I just don't see them allowing Fox to do this show unless they get something good in return (at least Silver Surfer). There's a very real possibility that over half a dozen Marvel shoes will air episodes in any given year.

Convincing Marvel to relinquish their exclusive control over Marvel branded TV programs was always going to be costly. I thought the price would be early reversion of the FF character rights at a minimum, and that was when the threat of a sequel or reboot by FOX remained a possibility.

DC is spreading their shows out over multiple networks, so it shouldn't be a big problem for Marvel to have a second broadcast partner involved. I still think a deal will get done - FOX and Marvel would be throwing money away otherwise - but we may not get confirmation until FOX sells a few dozen FFINO DVDs.

One potential issue could be scheduling. I assume Damage Control will air on a different night than S.H.I.E.L.D. (probably Wednesday or Thursday). Marvel may want to have a say on which nights an X-show can air.

I don't really want a live action Xmen show. I prefer a deal for an animated show to possible save us from the average Marvel animated shows currently airing.

Live action comicbook shows are not doing so well ratings wise on the major 4 Networks. Unless Fox wants to squeeze out 4 seasons for syndication purposes like ABC is doing with AOS. I don't have much hope for a live action Xmen show to be a ratings hit.

Its like people prefer to watch their Comic book media on the big screen and on Netflix of course.

Same here. I would prefer a cartoon series not related to the films. Though an animated X-Men show is also very unlikely to happen.

Right now, I'm content @ getting 1 to 2 X-Men movies per year.:woot: I really don't want a TV show especially if its gonna be limited to visual effects, action and quality and in budget.

Hellfire Club Series in Development at Fox, X-Men's Bryan Singer to EP
Fox’s long-gestating X-Men project is heating up.

The network on Wednesday announced that is formally developing an action-adventure series with Marvel that centers on the villainous gang known as The Hellfire Club.

Tentatively titled Hellfire, the potential series will be set in the 1960s and follow a young Special Agent who learns that a power-hungry woman with extraordinary abilities is working with a clandestine society of millionaires – known as The Hellfire Club – to take over the world.

X-Men: First Class
introduced moviegoers to two Hellfire-ians, Sebastian Shaw (Kevin Bacon) and Emma Frost (January Jones).

“We are thrilled to partner with Marvel to bring this world to television and build upon the vibrant mythology that has captivated fans for years,” said Fox president David Madden in a statement. “These powerful and dynamic characters are complicated and larger-than-life, the pace and visual imagination are unrelenting, and the story takes place during one of the most explosive eras in recent history. We are so looking forward to working with this incredibly talented team.”

Star Trek 3
scribes Patrick McKay and JD Payne will pen the script and serve as EPs alongside 24 vets Evan Katz and Manny Cot, and X-Men‘s Lauren Shuler Donner, Bryan Singer and Simon Kinberg. Marvel’s Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory will also EP.

Interesting that they specifically mention partnering with Marvel.
Very
curious what Marvel gets from the partnership. Hopefully it's Fantastic Four.

TWO TV shows?!

Bryan Singer is producing both of them.

I wonder if he'll direct one of the pilots? :hmm

More interesting: one of the shows is co-produced with producers from Daredevil and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Something big just might be happening behind closed doors...

Power hungry woman? Selene please...

...I know everyone wanted her for New Mutants, but I'd like her for this...

I think the best move might be to end the X-Men Universe after AOA and Wolverine 3 - they could relaunch the continuity with Marvel (the way Sony did) having X-Men and FF produced by Marvel with Fox putting in the money and making the money.

Exciting news. Glad Fox finally got their head on straight and began cooperating with Marvel. I could care less about an X-men show, but hopefully this means big things for Marvels first family.

Let the current X-Men filmverse end with Jackman's farewell film serving as the epilogue. Bring in the MCU version, complete with cool X-Men stories Fox just can't do under the previous agreement (hello, Savage Land).

Yeah, give us the dirt ;)

If I had to guess, they don't get it. If they did, I think it would have been announced.

I wonder if it's part of the same universe as the X-Men movies. Particularly with Hellfire Club.

F*** the MCU. I'm tired of MCU this, MCU that. I don't want this tangled in MCU s***. I don't want forced crossovers for the sake of post-credits scenes.

They probably wouldn't announce a Fantastic Four reversion before the home release, even if it happened.

Also, these shows are indeed X-film continuity.

Just to clarify, it's certainly not part of the MCU. I was asking if it was tied to the X-Men movie universe. It's more a question of whether it'll have Emma Frost and Sebastian Shaw.

The X-Men franchise has done multiple post-credits scenes, though. Hell, Origins had two (that screened on different prints). Also the current X-Men franchise is attempting a "forced crossover" in their long-term plans for Deadpool and Gambit allegedly...

Don't even see what the MCU has to do with any of this, but alright.

except that's not going to happen.Singer,Donnor, and Kinberg are exec producing both shows.they have already "rebooted" the films and you
have deadpool, gambit, and the new mutants.and apocalypse defently won't be last X-Men films.

The character choosen obviously aren't those they are plans for in films.

We know the film and TV divisons of marvel are different now.I bet the chairman of disney had to step in for tv shows to happen.for marvel and Fox to co-produce tv shows and for Singer,Donnor, and Kinberg to be executive producers means unlike Spider-man this isn't cause where marvel basilly got everything except for Sony distributing the solo films.

already these shows said less like informercials for films like agents of shields Is.AOS now is basiclly setting up the inhumans film inless marvel stops trying to phase out Mutants for Inhumans.

Singer may direct pilot for one the shows I suspect.
