Sequels X-Men Live-Action TV Show in Development at Fox

I'd pass on this.

Just give me a X-Factor movie.

I'm not sure I understand the reasoning behind not wanting an X-Men tie in show when FOX execs are so enthusiastic about making it happen. This is a golden era for superhero television, and a weekly companion show would enhance the visibility of the film universe. A hit series could bring in new fans into the cinemas, which is essential if FOX has hopes to thrive in a market dominated by Marvel Studios and Warner Brothers.

Would X-Men fans prefer that FOX refuse to deal with Marvel rather than reaching an accord that strengthens both franchises?

Plus in some ways X-Factor fits an ongoing TV show much more than a two-hour film (structurally). And it gives you more time to flesh stuff out.

If Fox could give us a X-men series with the story and drama of the 90's toon then I'd be for it. The FF are only baggage for Fox for the next decade.

I'd rather merchandising than a TV show tbh. I wants my action figures.

Exactly. People are already complaining or unhappy because their favorite characters aren't getting the necessary screen time, or any time for matter, in the movies. You're only going to be able to do so much and introduce so many characters in the movieverse. They are going to have to branch out if they want to cover as much material as possible.

As someone already mentioned here, X-Factor lends itself so well to television it would be a shame if they didn't pursue it.

My only hope is that they look at other opportunities other than putting it on network Fox. They'll have way more freedom to do what they want if they gave if to FX or Netflix instead.

My problem with this is it wouldn't look as expensive as the movies. Just look at Fox's Minority Report... I'm also not sure if every episode would be a must-see, there's a lot of serial shows right now that have a lot of filler episodes (especially the ones that air 22 episodes per season). Then they would be quite limited to action and visual effects.

I'd rather see a 2 hour film for the X-Factor than a TV series. If this show is gonna have the quality of Lost, okay sure... but something like Agents of Shield or The Flash or worse, Gotham. It won't thrill me at all.

The storytelling of Gotham is debatable, sure. But you cannot deny that it looks damn good.

Yeah but you see, its only good in one department.

And I am not sure how I feel if Multiple Man gets more development and airtime than Cyclops ever had in 16 years....

Then theres the ratings... I would hate this to perform like Aos or Agent Carter.. you would think a Marvel tie in show would become one of the highest rated shows of ABC. But that didnt happen.

IMO stick it to movies... actually a TV show wouldnt help that much in the long run and I think theres a possibility that some people would just wait on Tv to watch some mutants than to purchase a ticket to watch mutants in a cinema. Tv shows didnt exactly help the sequels of Kung Fu Panda and Train Your Dragon at the box office because kids can already watch those characters on Tv.

Gotham looks good (?) because it's actually shot on location in NYC. A Fox X-men spin-off TV show will probably be shot in the same 4 Vancouver locations that Flash and Arrow are shot. The rest would be in-studio.

If they insist on a TV show hopefully it has the same production values and quality as DD.

Daredevil looks very made for TV especially the night scenes. It also does not look as expensive as AOS.

You don't want a TV show because you don't want one character to get more development over another. Um, okay.

You need your head checked.

Leave me alone.

That response of yours is hostile and abusive.

I do not care about your X-Men opinions and I have ignored your posts a long time ago.. but please stop posting insults to forum members as hard as it may seem to you.

That is a fascinating reality you live in.

I'm VERY happy with Daredevil.

As for a X-Series...there are several ways they can do this right. This could really be a great series.

I would love it if they put this on Netflix to burn Marvel Studios up even more. It's doubtful though because I'm sure they'll try to put this on FOX Broadcast instead. If they have to put it on a Fox channel then they should broadcast it on FX instead.

That way there is more flexibility in the storytelling and grittiness they can add to it. Daredevil's success proves this.

If FOX's plan is to "burn Marvel Studios up even more" they may want to keep it to themselves, since any TV deal requires Marvel's approval.

Fox can't burn up Marvel. Marvel is established, consistent, advertised and popular. Fox is hit and miss. I'd say they need their X-Men TV (and merch) rights to survive more than to compete. Putting a couple of X-films (FC and the Wolverine or X2) on Netflix wouldn't hurt.

Also, looking for talented directors wouldn't be a bad idea ! ;D
