To me its almost becoming part of the summer event cycle....

"Lets have a big event this summer."
"Who are we killing off?"

I've said alot of times I don't like Morrison run and frank quitely art was horrible. His stuff over at DC is much better than his run on X-Men.

i dont like what he's done with Batman either. the only thing i really got behind was the arc with the police trying to create their own Batmen, but everything from Black Glove to Batman, Inc. i havent liked and ive stopped reading anything with his name on it.

his Batman and Robin and Batman Inc are why im reading Batman books again

i picked up this past issue of B&R cuz Tomasi is writing it and i only hear good things with him on Green Lantern, and it was good enough to keep me interested for the next issue. and i can say im at least interested in Nightrunner from Batman Inc if only because of all that (ridiculous) contraversy around him....that and his look is pretty badass.

Agreed above on Quitely

I danced a jig the day his ugly, chubby, muffin-topped x-men went away

though I did like, probably about half, of Morrison's stories

Quitely never made the full run. He couldn't keep on schedule. It was mostly Igor Kordley and Phil Jimenez.

Thank you. I cannot even look at most of the stuff that was done by him on their run. All his faces are hideous. I don't understand the praise he gets.

I know this kind of stuff is subjective, but most of the time I can at least see how some people can like something, but I don't know how people can like his stuff and give it the kind of praise they do.

Like that emma frost cover that was supposed to be hot but made her look like a pre-op transexual

I loved Quietly on the X-men. His look was unconventional but it worked and I liked his run

OMG, I can't believe you guys are denying how hot Quitely's women are!

Er, um... yeah.

i think mostly his praise comes from his ability to tell a story. i can't stand to look at his stuff either but i can't deny he has that talent. just look at the silent issue of New X-Men, you could tell exactly what was happening, as opposed to the Uncanny issue that came out at the same time.

Havok will be happy:

Nrama: Storm has the most leadership experience of this X-Men lineup. Will she be stepping up and taking charge in this story?

Gage: Yes, she instinctively takes a leadership role often, although that’s a position Brand is accustomed to as well, so that could get awkward. Storm isn’t really the drill sergeant type — this is a pretty veteran group — but she is definitely the natural field leader. And she’s had first-hand experience with the Brood, as has most of our cast, back in the memorable Claremont/Cockrum/Paul Smith stories.

That new lineup looks awesome! Not a Cyclops, Emma, Wolverine, Magneto, or Namor to be seen... like every other X-Men book that focuses on them.

I've given up on that title but based on that lineup and Gage saying you can read just his arc without Way's and it still make sense... I may just pick up his issues. The Way story doesn't interest me at all and his cast even less than that.

I think I'll read the Gage bits with Beast and Brand and do my best to ignore the rest.

Too bad thats Astonishing X-men, but I guess its a start. I wish they'd can this book. That new lineup looks horrible

I love that line-up but there's nothing that could get me back into AXM unless it became a regular in-continuity X-book.

Kitty, Pete, Ro, Hank, Abigail, and Lockheed

That's a lineup out of my ****ing dreams, man.

This is probably what SWORD should have been. Might have had more people actually read it

Better artwork would've gotten me. I refuse to read a comic where the main artist can't draw Beast to save his life.

Art was probably one of the better things about that series

If they put Pete Wisdom in there as well it would be my dream line up. I'm talking chain smoking, beer drinking snarky smart ass Pete Wisdom from 90s excalibur none of that goverment stooge fool we been seeing over recent years.

Plenty of intresting storylines as well with Kitty, Pete and Wisdom due to their history.
