I like Yost and Kyle as writers. I loved their X Academy run, although they really do like to kill characters.

If they keep the fun tone then I'm down with it. X-Men as a whole has been way too much angst and in fighting and such since probably the Twelve storyline.

I'm ready for it to lighten up.
 
I can see not loving his style, but it does fit well and is a very fun style for the book, and c'mon, he has been knockin' it outta the park on this one, it's my favorite book of his since Deadpool classic.
 
Marvel needs to realize that the X-Men are better off with only one voice running things. I'm happy to hear Aaron is moving on.
 
I am totally down with this change! Aaron's been doing a good job post-AvX, but I typically like Kyle and Yost better. I actually don't care for the silly factor of Aaron's writing and wish K&Y weren't continuing it... but still, I'm excited. And I'm STOKED for Colossus to return.

Any chance of a few of Aaron's lesser new students to get bus-a-kablooied? Shark Girl and Snot at the very least.
 
I'm excited for this change as well! I like Aaron's stuff, but I prefer Yost and Kyle, glad they're back with an X-book. I'm looking forward to whatever lineup shakeups they have besides Colossus.

And JH, I would also not be sad to see Shark Girl go. Not that I hate her, but she just had her introduction issue and she's just kind of... been there. Actually, that's my opinion for a lot of the new class...
 
I just don't like scary animals with boobs. It's weird.

The only students since Kyle and Yost's New X-Men days that I like are Transonic, Primal, Kid Gladiator, Broo, Quentin, and Evan. The rest I'm either indifferent about or just flat out don't like.

Though I just learned that adjectiveless X-Men has been or will be running a New X-Men back up, so that's exciting.
 
Sooner or later there will probably be another mass cull of these mutant students. Someone in the X-office is going to get a itch trigger finger.
 
I actually like it when they do that. Yeah, I've lost some favorites along the way... but I tend to always enjoy the story or aftermath. The exception was when Synch died. That was pointless, though he went out a hero.

I was sad when Ikaris and Walflower died in New X-Men, particularly Ikaris, but life went on and I remember that whole story very fondly due to the gravity of the cost.

With New Mutants and Generation X, at least you knew who all the kids were, their history, and what's become of them. Since the New X-Men generation we've had so many students that I couldn't possibly list them all. We know little about most of them, care about few of them, and will likely see nothing become of any of them. Yet, Marvel keeps making more.

At least with New Mutants and Generation X, Marvel played them out and gave some space before creating the next generation. They had a good start with New Mutants v2. It was a large cast with the supporting characters but still decent. Then they added more and more and more. K&Y took care of the growing problem and gave us a group to focus on, but just as quickly Marvel switched that group up with Young X-Men, then Generation Hope, then Aaron's students. This is technically still the same generation of students that's gotten little growth in 12 or 13 years. I mean, Anole graduated off panel for God's sake.
 
thats why Ive found it hard to get invested in this generation. Marvel doesnt even seem invested in them aside from a select few. They've really made this bunch feel irrelevant
 
Marvel should put a hold on creating new young X-Men for a couple years and just focus on the the bunch of them they already have.

Are you talking about a number of the students teaming up with Jubilee at the end of the last issue? That's going to be an ongoing thing? Cool.

And I agree with most of what's being said here: Mass culling, then finally get in and develop what is there before adding more.
 
Sounds like the Wolverine death story is coming soon....

This is related to the running plot line of him losing his healing factor.
 
Didn't he just die a few years back and fought the devil or something like that?
 
He died, went to hell, came back. Meh. I read the storyline and it wasn't that great.
 
It was a very brief storyline that you could tell from the start, was not intended to be permanent. This one, Marvel wants you to believe that it's permanent which as we all know by this point, is a crock.

He's also doing Original Sin for Marvel's next event. I wouldn't be surprised to see him hop on to some other titles as well.
 
this is the first time in 20+ years of reading comics that I can't continue to buy any main X-titles (well, I will continue reading Amazing, but I don't know if that's considered a core book)

And I read all through all the Austen-Casey-Milligan crap

The whole line is just so terrible
If it don't have Nightcrawler, I don't wants it.
 
I consider the core X-Men books to be All-New, Uncanny, and Amazing. Whether that continues post Aaron, we'll see.

For me it's Gambit. :( X-Factor is better than the core books for me right now.
