Please rate on a scale of 1 to 5, with 1 being the least desirable and 5 being the most desirable.
1. Rate your general desire to see an X4.
2 - Potential to be done right, but the ongoing story arcs were all wrapped up in
X-Men: The Last Stand. Any continuation would be an unnatural progression of the storyline, and would not work as well.
2. Rate your desire to see an X4 with the previous trilogy characters.
5 - 5 based upon if a 4th film is going to be made, this is the way it needs to be made. However, in terms of an
X-Men 4 being made period, refer to my above ranking.
3. Rate your desire to see an X4 with
mostly newer characters.
Can I vote "0"? You cannot successfully change the central core of characters in a movie series. It just doesn't work. Movies are not comic books.
4. Rate your desire to see Wolverine.

3 or 4. Leaning towards 4. If more X-Men films are to be made, I believe this would be the way to go. The
Magneto film can be turned into a prequel X-Men film. We'll have the
Wolverine series for people to get their Wolverine fix, and an X-Men prequel series can give us the other X-Men characters. I firmly believe that X-Men shouldn't be without certain vital characters. Those characters include Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm, Wolverine, and obviously Professor X. Particular comic arcs without said characters don't count, as comic arcs come along so often that you can afford to have particular stories without certain characters. But to me, these are the defining characters of what makes up the X-Men. With Cyclops, Jean, and Xavier dead, you cannot continue from where
X-Men: The Last Stand left off with these characters. Cyclops wasn't -shown- to be dead, and could be brought back, but bringing back Cyclops pretty much negates what makes Jean Grey unique. Jean Grey can't come back, as in the movies, Phoenix is just an extension of herself, not a cosmic entity. She is very much mortal, and it is not in her powers to remain alive. She remained alive as consequence of the acts of her powers, not because of her powers themselves. She allowed herself to be killed, and cannot come back. While Xavier transferred his mind to another body, the "identical twin" concept is rather, well, corny and lame, and to make Xavier into any non-Patrick Stewart body would not work either. A prequel is the only way to continue these movies with the core characters.
