X-Men trilogy: standout acting

While I enjoy Storm/Halle in the trilogy, they really screwed that character up. I actually prefer X1 Storm because the accent is there, and she seemed more mature, and nurturing...plus, she actually wore more african themed clothing. The deleted X1 scenes of her should've stayed in, because they were her best scenes. IMO, there was nothing wrong with the accent.

If she had a better wig, and that bad line was deleted it wouldn't seem as ridiculous...seriously...it seems like someone in the editing room was against her. In X2 and X3 they pretty much made her their own character. She was NOT Storm, but more like Storm's more hip distant cousin. I think given the right material, and the right costuming Halle could've pulled it off better. She worked with what she had!

But lets not turn this into a Storm/Halle thread, I think Anna Paquin, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, and Hugh Jackman all pulled in great performances throughout the trilogy. Famke was great in X1/X2, and while I liked her in X3 I didn't feel the same 'umph' from her. She was more of a special effect in that film. If she was given more personal scenes, minus the effects, I think my opinions would change. That deleted scene of her sensing the scared girl was great...they should've kept that in!

Rebecca was also amazing, for getting so little to say in the films. I think that's a great feat...same for Kelly Hu...she didn't talk, but was cool in X2.

I'm jumping all over the place, but Ellen was great, and a perfect choice for Kitty....same for Shawn Ashmore, and Aaron Stanford...SO much good talent in these films. Can't wait to see what new talent we'll get in future films!

X3 added some really terrific actors (Ben Foster, Ellen Page, Michael Murphy, Kelsey Grammar, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Olivia Williams, Bill Duke), but unfortunately they were all underused.
