Sequels X0 -- A Prequel (Trilogy) Thread

Alright, true believers. Do you want to Cyclops get his due? Do you want to see how the X-Men school actually formed? Do you want to see Jean in action. Do you want to see how the X-Men first ran into the Sentinels that they used in the danger room in X3? Do you want to see how Mystique saw Gambit (whom she mimiced in X2 during the Cerebro attack on mutants while kneeling on the ground, as well as checking his file on the computer when she got the plans for Cerebro 2)?​

If you want to see how Scott and Jean got together, if you want to see how Bobby first came to the school as a snowball throwing little boy, if you want to see the X-Men in bright blue and yellow, then you need a prequel, you might even need a prequel trilogy. The X-Men haven't fought Magneto yet, but anyone who reads comics knows the X-Men have a million and one other villains worthy of some serious movie time, not the least of which are Bolivar Trask, Henry Peter Gyrich, Nathaniel Essex, Bastion and the Sentinels.

I have a million ideas, but I should probably ask some of you guys' first.

What X-Men could be on the team prior to X1? Who can they fight? What stories should be done? What actors should play these younger characters?

To be honest... I would really like to see a "prequel" of sorts, but in my mind, it should be more of a "restart". One that would begin before the events of the original X-Men movie, but that wouldn't necessarily lead to it. Of course, it might be too early for that right now...

And this time, they'll actually SHOW the sentinels...

are there any other available favorites that I'm overlooking? And what do you guys think about Xavier still being able to walk at that time (unless he gets crippled in "Magneto")

Interesting idea, could be very good, I like the idea of kinda reintroducing some of the characters.

The X-Men i would include would be; Cyclops, Jean Gray, Iceman, Beast and Storm. I think i'd probabley have them fighting the Sentinals

The most lookalike actors for each of them would probably be unknown, but if they need semi-known people some who'd work would be:

Chris Pine for Cyclops

Olivia Wilde for Jean Grey

Jessica Lucas for Storm

Joseph Ashton for John Proudstar, Thunderbird (a martyr character in my version)

Originally I had him for Magneto, but someone pointed out Magneto was not a villain pre X1, and this guy looks a lot like Patrick Stewart anyway.

James Marsters for Professor Charles Xavier.

How exactly would Gambit fit into a prequel?

Someone else said that same thing, and it confused me so much. I really don't see what a problem would be. He'd fit in the same way as Cyclops, Storm or any other of the X-Men.

I like your line up and I was going to include Bobby Drake in the movie, but not as an X-Man since he becomes one in X2... hence the principal problem with the prequel, many have favorite characters in Iceman, Wolverine, Rogue Colossus and Nightcrawler, who wouldn't appear in a prequel.

Somehow Havok, Polaris, Banshee, Sunfire, Sunspot, Thunderbird, Gambit, and the like don't bring up the same amount of hype. Too bad too...

OK. I put this togather rather quick, and the cast list is kinda random, i was just trying to fill as many name as i could, and keep to the right age rang, I am still working on a pic showing them in power mode. anyway here's the younger x-men. I was going for around like 5-10ish years younger

Its very interesting that someone else was thinking a prequel would be nice to see! I've been thinking that a good idea since i saw x2,and realized the x movies would simply be all about him. The line up for a prequel X-men:cyclops, jean, beast(him leaving to be a politician at the end),and storm.

I have no idea who would play these characters although i would like to see Kerry Washington play storm. And maybe Scarlet Johansen play jean if they would be showing the start of the x-men.

I was thinking about a prequel a couple of weeks back, I think I posted it in the Jean thread. Being as Wolverine is the central focus of the X trilogy and as he is getting a spin off, a prequel would be a great way to let other characters shine.

I'd like to see how it all started, with Cyclops and Jean as mentioned in X1 as first students. It would be a good way to show how Xavier and Magento parted ways and how people reacted to the X-Men.

I only didn't go with her as a # 1 pick cause she was in 3x she played the lil girl who Mystique turned in too (in the scene where she was locked up) which still could make scines that Mystique might of saw kitty when she was young.

X-Men: The Beginning

SYNOPSIS:

In a world that has not yet learned of their existence, mutants live in the shadows, in fear that one day they will be discovered. Charles Xavier, a mutant himself, has set up a safe haven in upstate New York, a place where mutants can feel united, strong, safe...

I would have this movie show the production of Sentinels and then introduce them fully in the sequel.

A prequel trilogy would work, but I think they need to stick to the actual originals, as much as possible. Scott, Jean, Hank, and Bobby. Warren obviously can be in it if they follow the movies, so maybe replace him with Sean. But if would be better to just completely ignore the movies and do the team as it should, with Warren.

Then a sequel would focus on recruiting some of the 2nd team, like Ororo, Peter, John, and maybe Sunfire. Maybe add in Alex too.

Another idea would be doing a Deadly Genesis movie - Prof X recruits a team prior to the 2ne team and gets them killed on their first mission.

Why do so many people want these pretty boys playing Scott? He not suppose to be the pretty boy of the group. He's suppose to be rather average. Warren's the pretty boy. That's what so wrong about James Marsden as Scott.

I think it should be believed that it's very rare like the public only thinks 1/100,000 are mutants. Then they get proven wrong.

A restart would be a far better idea, since the movies have built themselves into their own 'verse that is so different than the comics. And it's next to impossible to do the important storylines from the comics considering what has happened so far in the movies.

When the first movie was made, no one thought the X-movies would be this successful.

Start off, at the beginning, with the Original team. If they cast teenagers to play them, they can play the same characters for a decade without being too old.
