X2 and Spidey 2 still the best Marvel films?

It is a rare talent to be able to miss so many simple and concise points even with the benefit of having one’s hand held all the way up to them.

Does it take practice or does it just come naturally? :woot:

Given your obviously limited reading comprehension level you may want to reevaluate your perceived familiarity of the subject matter and how it may have influenced the topic at hand. :cwink:

What reading comprehension? You haven't actually gone into detail why you think X-2 is a bad movie. You're basically just complaining that it isn't like the comics.

To that I say, who gives a ****?

I think I prefer First Class to Spidey 2, certainly.

New list:

1. Spider-Man 2
2. Spider-Man
3. Iron Man
4. X2
5. X-Men: First Class

Honorable mentions to X-Men and then Thor.

Facts updated.

LOL. :woot:

For your sake I hope it is in fact bliss.

I'm kinda surprised to see so many people feel the same way I do.
I'll see First Class tomorrow. Hopefully I will rank it alongside those films.

After seeing First Class yesterday, I am very happy to now have seen another great Marvel film. I wouldn't quite say it displaced either Spider-man 2 or X2 for me, but it certainly is good enough to sit immediately below them, right alongside IronMan

First Class comes close to X2, but doesn't have that polish; maybe because X2 was a sequel, and First Class had a rushed production. Regardless, First Class 2 (Second Class?) has all the ingredients to blow X2 out of the water. Mathew Vaughn's aesthetics are ultimately better suited to X-men than Bryan Singer.

I disagree with both of those. Spider-man 2 was definitely the best in the Raimi series, but I don't think it's the best Marvel film. I'm not a fan of that series in general, I would have loved Spider-man 2 if they portrayed the characters of Peter and MJ differently, not a fan of Toby McGuire and Kirsten Dunst.

As for X-men 2, I hate that entire series. Actually, I can't say that for sure as I have yet to see First Class, while it looks better than the others, I don't see myself loving it.

My favorites have to be Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk, both movies are just great. Iron Man especially really did a good job, RDJ really is perfect as modern day's Iron Man. To me Iron Man is a perfect example of a comic book movie done right.

TIH is good too, I really love Ed Norton, the opening credits and the cinematography in general. It's one of those films that I love to look at and I'm not quite sure why. I can understand why some people might feel different about it though, it does drag in some parts.

First class is a far more watchable film than X2 and spidey 2 for me.

I'm guessing you've already spent considerable amount of money rewatching FC as many times as those two to reach this conclusion?

That and he basically hates the spider-man trilogy. I dunno about the x-films.

I've recently tried to watch the Spider-Man trilogy and I just can't do it anymore. Something about those movies just don't sit well with me anymore, they're so cheesy and I don't like any of the performances. The action is still pretty good and the lone highlight of the series for me. X2 is my favorite Marvel movie although First Class is definitely giving it a run for its money but I need to see it a few more times before my mind is made up.

No I've seen the movie twice. This movie at the very least had an overall better acting than the previous x movies and the spidey movies especially.

I think X2 is overrated but I agree with you on everything else 110%

Really? I thought the acting was one of the few weak points from First Class that keeps me from putting it above X2. I'm talking about the X-kids in particular.

First Class and Thor are probably my fave Marvel films right now, with Iron Man, X2, TIH and Spidey 2 coming in somewhere after..

The first two Spider-Man movies and X-Men 2 are at the top of my list.

Thor and Iron Man are my top two MARVEL movies right now, probably with FC then X2 and Spidey 2.

The Best Series that gets an overall "mean" best score are the X-Men, which includes the new "First Class" Some fall short of others, but no "bomb" in the bunch, unlike ruff ones for Spidey, FF, Iron Man, etc
I liked Thor, and foresee a good series there (Hope they bring in Hercules for the next one)

Oh I'd say X-men has bombs in the bunch. I wouldn't say Iron Man has....yet.

Iron Man has. Iron Man 2 was below average.

Well we just need to disagree there cause there ain't no chance in hell that we're ever gonna agree there. I thought it was very good. Not the greatness that the 1st was but still rock solid.

I never understood what all the fuzz was about with X2. It's an average action movie at best.

I remember seeing the trailer for the first time, and when Magneto said "the war has begun!", I thought "oh *****, this is it! The big battle!" And when I finally saw the movie... meh, I thought it was just okay. Nothing special. Oh wait, Jean died just like Spock in Wrath of Khan? Nope, I don't care.
