X2: X-Men United - 10 YEARS!

I know I'm in the minority here but I'm nt the biggest fan of X2 I much prefer the first film. I think X2 is an overly long film, and I don't think it has a truy epic action scene. Yeah the White Hose scene is cool but its not exactly a huge scene. However, this film is the best showcase of Wolverine on film so far (well maybe until the Wolverine) and the flashbacks in this were better than anything in Origins. But I digress, it's a good film but I don't think it's the best of the X-Series, I'd rank it 3rd behind X1 and my personal favourite First Class.

Same here. X2 forgot about the inherent themes of X-Men and all it did was the old "good guys vs bad guys" thing. Wolverine went to look for his past and found... nothing. He had his usual one back and forth scene with Jane and... nothing happened again. Dr. Xavier spent half the movie under hypnosis. Nightcrawler had a bombastic first scene and did little else but talking about his stuff: religion, being shy, whatever else.

Some of the action was good but I also prefer the first one.

I preffer X1 too.

X2 had great moments, and the action scenes were better, obviously. And Nightcrawler is easily one of the best characters on the franchise, if not the best (to me)

but I LOVE X1 tone and intimate take. The whole first act of X1 is brilliant to me. The prologue, how both Magneto and Rogue had an introduction, then Wolverine's scene, the bar one, how Rogue and Logan meet. The whole introduction of the school, Jean and Wolverine on the lab. All the scenes between Logan and Rogue... the train scene, how the x-men worked as a team on Liberty Island, the final scene where Logan saved Rogue

I didnt like Cyclops role on X1, he deserved better material in my opinion, and the final fights were poor, but to me all the positive things of that movie make it my fave to date.

Yeah I agree

It's funny cause I think Cyclops got seriously **** on during he whole series, his role got less and less as they went on. He's hardly in X2 and of course we know in X3 it's a cameo

I prefer X2, I felt like it expanded their world, less introductions and it was like time for more fun.

X2 is, on a technical level, a better film than X1 is every regard. But X1 feels more like an X-Men film to me.

Singing: Do you know what today is? it's our anniversary.

im sorry but i dont get the love for singers films. hated the costumes, several characters were mis cast (prof x was prob the best tho)

and they were just plain boring. if someone could explain to me what was so good about them maybe i missed something - seeing the love for them on here i wish i felt the same way :(

I could say same thing as Man of steel and some of MS films(Iron Man 2,Thor,Captaim America:The first Avenger,Iron Man 3)

Boring?Oh please.

Well some people expected the movies to be cartoonish and colorful like the cartoons/videogames. LOL!

COMPLETELY AGREE! I love X1 and X2, but storywise X1 is the best X-men movie hands down. THE ORIGINAL most of the time is the best. Singer has the intimate feel hands down. In X-2 he was trying to lighten the mood just a little bit and show everybody more freely. Problem is Scott had limited screen time in X-2 and Xavier spent most of it strapped to a chair. Don't get me wrong I still love X-2, but nothing beats X1!

Re-Watching X1 and 2 both are good but X2 is the better film.

X2, even after ten years remains the second best Marvel CBM.

Great casting, great handling of the many character. Lots of subplots and character development, good core story, great action, a little humour, excellent villains.

I rewatched this the other day and its still just as great as the first time I watched it. Just wish it had more Cyclops. He got screwed over big time in the movies. :csad:
