X3 Forum Debate Of The Week!

Greetings my peers,


The subject thread title is the name of the concept that I'm going to start employing here effective immediately. No longer will general threads for complaining about X3 (and basically other board members) be tolerated because they are counterproductive and end up being little else than neverending pools of negative spam.

I realize it's important for fans to "vent" about this film--but such complaining has got to get more sophisticated, organized--and less personal. Therefore, we are going to have what we'll call "X3 Debate Of The Week". This is how it will work:

1.) Hypesters will post topics of discussion they'd like to see debated by their peers on THIS thread first

2.) One thread per week will be selected from the list here and then stickied at the top of the forum

3.) The thread and/or poll will be active and open for discussion for 7 full days and then it will be closed

4.) After the former debate is closed, a thread for the next debate will be created and the process will begin anew


BENEFITS: The pros of this concept include keeping discussion focused on the topic at hand--and cuts down on the time that certain horses will be "beaten to death". It also will put a reasonable end to debates that some users have been unable to resolve and "let go" of on their own.

Are we in agreement? If so, let's start posting some topics for debate here. Topics can be about Cyclops, Storm vs. Phoenix, studio politics, or whatever you chiles wish to get into. Let's get the juices flowing and get this forum back on track.

Oh Jeebuz. I dare you to go there with this, PF. Obviously you haven't learned where as the rest of the people who got herded into thinking that Famke performed better realized that there's more to it than that.

Maybe by the end of this, I will have converted this obstinate Halle-hatred you have (when it's obvious that you don't know much about Storm to begin with, or even like her. So why you have such a problem with her is stupid.), and convert it. Like I have others.

Billy is right--it's for illustrative purposes and I actually didn't mean an Actress battle at all. I meant Storm vs. Phoenix--a topic that would be more appropriate for an X-MEN forum.

But I don't really care what is debated, since peeps will only have a week to do it--and then the subject is closed FOREVAH.

Cyclops and Storm: Glorified Cameos? Why was it they had to take, not just one, but more than others, for the team

Jean/Logan: Was it more important to see the forced attraction between them or should that time been spent on more character development on others in all three movies?

Good idea LS Jean and Logan was basically like Scott and Jean for some odd reason. Her attraction to Logan was greater than Scotts, and thats just sad. But thats only ONE reason to why I know that they screwed of The Phoenix Saga

Ororo: inconsistent, angry for no reason, also indecisive, and useless outside of battle
Rogue: indecisive again, scared, distracted easily by boys
Kitty: man-stealing school girl with a dirty mouth

Funny - well, not really - how that very comment also applies to most x-ladies in the comics just the same.

Mmmm... And the answer would be: GUYS writing the bloody thing.

Something about either being the 'big strong male rescuing his lady love' or 'big strong male being able to seduce the hot pissed off amazon'.

QUESTION: Should Jean and/or Cyclops return in the next (or any future) X-movie? If so, why and how?

The Life and Times of Mary/Marty/Gary Sue

Simply put, a Mary/Marty Sue is a person of unbeilvable good looks, uber power, has the amazing ability to make everyone like/love them, has the power to upturn and refocus the plot on them alone, may have a small but solvable problem to make the audience "relate" to them, and is generally good at everything they do.
