X3: Give one statement on what SHOULD NOT have happened

Oh okay. (To Worthy as well)

And that's where alot of the Halle/Hugh "hatred" come from. Fox told the writers that this was Hugh and Halle's movie. Which was also the reason for Phoenix having next to no lines.

This is what I don't get. What the hell did Halle do? Nothing! So how was this in any part her movie? Hugh did everything. Storm just sat there and said "Well, I'll take the school".

Halle got the top billing. Her char got the school. She wanted her char to be developed more and do more and show more of herself. Instead, she inherited the school and became head of the Xavier institute. Someone didn't understand the concept of "I'd like my char to do more" it seems.

I really do know and understand this. But that is not much at all. I will absolutlry say that it's an evolution of her character, and I LOVED that they made her do that. Now what are the odds that were gonna actually get to see her run the school?

I misread the thread. LOL

I thought it said Give one reason on why X3 should not have happened. I'm blind. Dumb me.

I can't read that and not cringe. that happened way too early and it wasn't called for. Maybe down the line, but in TLS in was just worng.

What?

She's taking care of a school, how is that "not much at all"?

that's not an evolution of the character, but one of those sudden, massive "leaps" you hear about in the closing credits of X2. Unfortunately, there are certain chasms of believability that even big leaps like this cannot cross.

and I LOVED that they made her do that. Now what are the odds that were gonna actually get to see her run the school?

Very unlikely, since it is doubtful that she and Hank could possibly run the whole institute, the X-Men tactical team, and raise and train and educate 50 hyper and troubled youth. If that alternate ending is accurate, then they really must be desperate, if it looks like they are making bobby one of the new instructors.

EVENTUALLY, yes. But within just over a year of their first mission against Magneto in X1? I don't think so. Scott's next in line. He's been bred and trained for this role and prepared most of his adult life. Cheap movie death" is no excuse.

Storm being put in charge like that SHOULD NOT have happened.

The director and studio SHOULD NOT have said NO to making a Bird of Fire FX shot, Murderers.

You know, after watching the Phoenix/Dark Phoenix saga not too long ago after I joined the hype, I was pumped up about Scott's role and didn't pay much attention to what Logan's role would be like in X3, but it wasn't until before the movie came out, I started to doubt myself and all things Scott related. I mean, I assumed scott would atleast have a decent role in this one after just watching the Phoenix/Dark Phoenix saga a few more times, but I was wrong. I assumed too much and my love for Jean and Phoenix's story blinded me for all the things I thought would make it in X3.

As for Scott and Logan switching roles, the more I think about it, the less I enjoy their roles in X3. I understand the changes and why they were made, but how could Fox do something so idiotic like not having Scott at all in the film? I agree with those who felt his death wasn't so heroic but they should have atleast give him a better death scene instead of having Jean killing him with the kiss of death. Honestly, all we saw was his skin rippling but we didn't see him explode into atoms. The problem is, is the lack of explaination of what really happened to Scott and why he went out the way he did when he opened his eyes and then suddenly cut to Xavier sensing the disturbance and feeling it too.

The way his appearent death scene was handled is the only thing that bothered me. Again, its the lack of explaination and why did it happen. It goes to show that Fox doesn't give a s*** about Mr. Summers but atleast Logan mentioned him a few times, especially in the infirmary with Jean after their little rendevous on the med table. I liked how he was more concerned about Scott than the other X-Men, besides Jean herself. It shows that he does care about him, despite how he feels for Jean and understands that her heart belongs to Scott. (I'm referring to the end of X2 when Logan says "She did make a choice. It was you.") I always felt that Logan's arc ended in X2 in the end and step up to being like a big brother and best friend to Jean.

Was I the only one who felt that he acted like a brother towards Jean and also in regards to her condition and what Xavier had done to her?

I would have liked if Logan said "Be well..." near the end when he kills Jean, but the I love you part, somewhat bothers me. Although, I'd rather go with Scott's optic blast killing Jean than Logan's claws...or it could happen both ways... Logan would try to stop Dark Phoenix by stabbing her repeatedly just like in Endsong. lol Then Scott comes in when all else fails and finishes the job by bringing himself to kill the one he loves most even though she committed such horrible acts of evil. Deep down, there is still that connection they share since the two have been together for most of their life time.

but again...it would have been interesting and more tragic to witness on screen. :) Ah well. Thats just my opinion and how I think in terms of what I've seen/read based on the comics, movies and the cartoons- especially TAS X-Men.

I've registered here last year ago, and I go back here because of X3. I also liked Phoenix Endsong, the way they've handled the characters.:)

Ugh! Phat should have been a white, bleach-blond Eminem-wannabe! Stupid Ratner...

Weird. Its okay for people to bash and trash Bryan Singer and Superman Returns but not X3.I don't understand that logic.

Oh Retro. X wasn't saying it wasn't okay to bash Ratner and not Singer... that assumption kind of formed out of the air... :p

If you say so.:joker:

Should nots of x3... theres one main one.

90 minute runtime.

That is the bane of x3 and stopped it from being greater than x2 for the film verse, not loyalty to comics.
