X4: Needs to be re-cast?

It looks like X4 is a certainty, but wouldn't many parts would need to be recasted to keep budgets down, etc? Has any of the cast talked about returning for X-men 4?

I think once the Wolverine movie underpreforms, Hugh Jackman will return to the series. All the rest of the cast (minus Ian Mackellan...he won't be in X4) will also most likely return because they aren't as "high profile" actors...except for Halle Berry. And Halle Berry has said she would like to come back in the "leader" capacity...so basically, she wants to be the leader and head of the school or nothing. Which could work....Angela Basett for Storm.

With such successes, I don't think productions need a budget cut. $41 millions in opening day!

But she's the leader now...Angela is 48, and she just looks strong.

Halle was always a little on the weak side, she doesn't have the commanding presence, so i wouldn't really miss her if she was gone. Are the fans attached to Halle's Storm?

It'd be weird if any of the original X-Men were recast though.

I'd rather prefer an X-Men: Next Generation with all new casts (except Mystique and Kitty ) then to recast someone.

In the hands of bad writers and script, it could be very bad. I just get the feeling that it will be a shoddy ripoff of the X-men movies, which will be rushed into theatres. It won't make as much money as expected at least.

Maybe I missed something, but when was Mystique ever a main character? She deserves more screen time, a lot more.

Halle is Storm. End of story. Angela is too old for the role. For this REALM of X-Men that the movies introduce anyway. I don't hate Halle. I saw major improvements in X3. Is she perfect? No. But I like her Storm. I can't deal with character changes this far in. And since when is X4 a definite? I think we'd all like it in writing and not just go on box office numbers.

You're right, this is the Storm. And it's more then likely she won't be in the next film so she might as well be recasted instead.

Re-casting is a bad idea. If Storm is in the next movie, and I hope she is, it better be Halle. How are audiences saposed to stay connected with these characters if they don't have the same face? It is like making up a new character and having them with the same name and powers as someone we already know. It is one thing that kills sequals. End of Story.

That's fine. We will get a "Storm and the kid X-men" movie if she does return, according to her plans. Look forward to it next year.

Shadowcat was not a main character in the first two movies. She was bairly noticed. Storm has been a main character in 3 movies now. People will notice that and they won't like it.
I wouldn't call Christian Bale as Batman a recast. They basically started the Batman movies over. It has little if any relevence to the first Batman movies.

Fans would be angry if Storm was played by.....someone worse then Halle Berry. Maybe if Martin Lawrence in Big Momma costume played her. Or maybe the third member of Destiny's Child. But if she was recast as someone who could accurately represent the character, such as Bassett, I'm sure they'd have no problem. Fans would say "That's Storm," the general public will say "What happened to Halle Berry...but it's a new trilogy and this storm kicked a**." If the new storm is better, losing Berry will be forgiven.

She wasn't a main character in X1 or X2, she was well known to people but she wasn't a main character. She butchered the true character of Storm in X3 and made Storm something she's not, something any actress could do. I'd rather have a good actress than a mediocre one.

I partially agree. I think Halle is a good actress, but she's just a little too...weak. She looks a little scared, unless her eyes are "whited out" bu the effects. To be the leader of the X-men, the Storm from the comic book is needed: not the whiny, opinionated-for-the-sake-of-being-opinionated Storm from X-men 3. Although her action scenes kicked some a**

Storm needs a mohawk in the next movie no matter who plays her.

If Jackman agrees to return for another I'm sure it will happen with fewer mutants and a new villain (Apocalypse). And Gambit of course.

I want more about Woverine, I want them to reinvision Sabertooth as well.

That would be true, if they replaced Patrick Stewart with the Guvernator. I would definitely agree, if Storm had any presence or something unique about her...like Anna Paquin as Rogue, she has a fleshed out personality, mannerisms...
