i am addicted to game so much recently. i play games such as battlefield: bad company 2,Final Fantasy, etc. i've searched a lot and read a lot reviews. still confusing what to buy. say Xbox 360 Arcade Bundle and Playstation 3 Slim . i love them both. so, what to choose, plz give me some suggestions. tks

I'd say it just comes down to what you want out of the systems and what types of games you like to play.

(Just off the top of my head)

Does Gears of War, Halo, Mass Effect, Halo, Alan Wake, Metro 2025, Forza, Splinter Cell, Left 4 Dead, Crackdown, Kameo, Too Human, Project Gotham Racing, and Lost Odyssey appeal to you?

Or does Uncharted, Demon's Souls, FF vs XIII, God of War, Little Big Planet, Heavy Rain, Killzone, Resistance, Ratchet & Clank, Metal Gear Solid 4, Valkyria Chronicles, Disgea 3, Gran Tourismo, Twisted Metal, White Knight Chronicles, Warhawk, FFXIV, and DC Online appeal to you?

Tech spec wise the new Slim 360 will put most of it's specs on a similar level to the PS3. For $300 both will be putting out similar power, both will have wi-fi, both also use less power than their bigger counterparts. The main difference would be the PS3's Blu-ray drive if that's important to you.

As for motion controls (if they matter to you) does Microsoft's Kinect's motion free Minority Report style appeal to you, or does Playstation Move's ultra accurate controller in your hand appeal to you?

Then there's online. PS3's is free, and 360 costs $60 a year. Quite a few ppl say the 360's online is better, tho the PS3's has been making huge strides in improving (and personally I've never had problems with it). However Sony has announced a new PSN+ plan that will cost just as much as Microsoft's Xbox Live service, and put it on par or make it better possibly (considering all the xtra junk they're giving you on top of the fee). Tho if you don't want that the current PS3's service will still be free, you just have an option on top of that.

In the end I'd recommend just doing a bit more research on the exclusive games for it. Most 3rd party games are going to appear on both anymore. Xbox's exclusive GTA 4 content, Ninja Gaiden, Dead Rising, Oblivion, Bioshock, and what seemed to be Portal 2 at first all ended up on the PS3. And Grand Theft Auto, Devil May Cry, Tekken, and Final Fantasy XIII all ended up on the 360 as well. So the main difference inbetween the two consoles are their exclusives, which is where I'd mainly focus personally. I'm trying hard as I can to keep personal preference out of my answer lol, so can't really go into more detail.

Live is 50 dollar's a year, not 60.

Like FadingCB stated, what games are you interested in? Do you want a Blu Ray player? Personally, i feel the best games in terms of exclusives are found on the PS3. Metal Gear Solid 4 and the Uncharted series are some of the best games released this generation. Not saying MS doesnt have some good games, Halo, Gears of War and Alan Wake are some great titles. Also the Mass Effect series is fantastic.

Look at the games library and then make your decision. Thats what it comes down to.

Get whichever has the games and features that appeal to you more, but I would personally recommend the PS3 over 360.

Like Pat says, I think it has better exclusives and Blu-ray is awesome. The 360 isn't without merit though. Multiplatform games tend to run a bit smoother on it and it has a more robust online service.

But for me, the only reason I still use my 360 regularly is because all my friends have one. Oh, and Mass Effect.

Actually multiplatform games are pretty much now the same on the PS3 due to more experience developing with it and publishers like EA and UbiSoft using the PS3 as the lead platform in development and then porting it to the 360 (due to lower costs and being easier).

Well, Assassin's Creed II's framerate on PS3 says otherwise.

That's because the 360 version was the lead platform. In a lot of cases when the 360 version is the lead platform, the PS3 port ends up suffering. Same thing happened with Bayonetta (which resulted in Platinum switching to the PS3 with their next game).

Bayonetta was patched like 2 weeks after release, putting it on part with the 360 version. The update alowed for a manual install which fixed the loading and framerate issues, it previously suffered from

I chose PS3 over Xbox after reading many RROD (Red Ring of Death) stories.

Those exclusive list are incomplete, most noticeably the Xbox list.

Exclusives would be a good way to decide if everything else about the consoles and their services were on par but that is not the case. Also Metacritic isn't the best way to judge the quality of a game. Especially when it comes to exclusives as they seem to generally score higher than multi-platform games regardless of the quality.

LEFT 4 DEAD AND MASS EFFECT IS MULTIPLATFORM

Ignore that post. Thats such a pathetic attempt at showing what the systems offer. Clearly he has a slanted focus.

Not to mention Mass Effect is not multiplatform, unless you're considering the PC version.

Well here is my 2 cents. I currently own a 250GB PS3 slim and am getting ready to buy the new 4GB XBOX 360 Slim, which is only $199, http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=78479. I was going to purchase the 250 GB version (which is $299) and then found out about the 4GB version, so space isn't really the issue, since I have my media already stored on my PS3. Since I already use my PS3 to store and stream movies from my laptop/desktop, I am going to use the XBOX for Netflixing and the exclusive games. So if I were you, I would buy the PS3 and then save up for the less expensive XBOX. Right now the 250 GB PS3 Slim is going for $349 and the 120GB PS3 is going for $299. $50 more gives you 130 GB more of space, so it's well worth the money. Each console has their fair share of exclusive games, so why not have the best of both worlds? However, if I had to make a choice right now, it would have to be a PS3 with all of it's functionality compared to the XBOX, and then save up for the XBOX.

RouthIsSiperman, Id definetly get the 250gb Xbox. All that space is there for a reason. Even if you wont use all of it, I really dont think you wil go far with just 4gb of space (and I think its closer to 3gb since several of it is already used up). You are going to need the space for demos, games you download off XBLA, possibly installing titles, updates, etc...

Xbox 360 is better if you like multiplayer games, PS3 is better if you like single player games.

360 has better & more multiplayer exclusives, while the only good PS3 exclusive multiplayer games are Uncharted 2 (which is only so well received because of the campaign) & Little Big Planet.

See that's just the thing, I don't/won't download games off XBLA and won't be installing the games onto the HD. Noise isn't an issue with me, since my XBOX will be in a closet as I have all of my gear hidden, and all that gear is being controlled by RF frequency. As far as demos go, I typically will download one or two at a time and then when I am done with them, I will delete it. I mean if worse absolutely comes to worse then I will just plug in my 16 GB Flash Drive. So I am going to take that extra hundred bucks and put it towards a couple of accessories and a game.

I thought I wouldn't download anything either, then I saw Shadow Complex and 'Spolsion Man. Also learned about both Banjo Kazooie being on Live Arcade, there's a lot to download.
