If you are wondering why. Vin Diesel bought the rights from Revolution, and Chinese media companies are basically financing it. The movie bombed in the US, but it did very well overseas and in China.

They love a lot of our loud crazy **** because frankly they don't get much of it in their own movies. Some have it, but a lot don't. As much as we bash our own entertainment a lot of the rest of the world love it due to the same reasons.
