Diesel and Cohen Returning for XXX Sequel

How ****ing desperate is Vin Diesel that he's returning for this AND another Fast and Furious movie? His career is done.

Why are people saying it's over for him? Every actor does this. Not just vin.

*5 Years Later* What about another XXX film? Other Producer "Didn't we already do a sequal?" "So what?"

I guess Diesel needs a paycheck. He hasn't been in a lot of movies lately, so it's not like he can say "no" when offered a sequel to a movie that made a lot of money. :(

I wish they'd just do Riddick 3, gorramit! :cmad:

What's the point? The second one bombed. Are they going to say it was because it didn't have Diesel and Cohen? Everything Diesel's been in since like THE PACIFIER has bombed.

The Pacifier was a career killer. I haven't seen it, but I guess it really was that bad. If they can make a solid chapter 3 for Chronicles of Riddick however, then Vin Diesel's failures will be forgiven very quickly by yours truly. :word:

A big problem though, is that there just aren't enough good roles for big, tough action guys any more. In the 80's they ruled the screen through the likes of Arnie and Sly Stallone, but people don't seem interested in "big fellas" anymore. Now it's all about lingerie models with samurai swords, or emo kids doing slow motion karate-- or some combination of the two. People want a "vulnerable looking" protagonist now, and have forgotten how cool it is to see a big tough guy march across the screen and kick the villain's @$$.

Didn't The Pacifier make over $100 million?

It's funny, isn't it? I'm sure there were alot of people who thought 'the Pacifier' would be Diesels' 'Kindergarden Cop'.

Instead, it nearly killed his career.

I dont necessarilly think that people have forgotten how cool it is to see a big tough guy kick a$$ - there's still room for the 80's style, well-muscled action star.

I just think that audienced now demand more in terms of acting ability, plot and characterisation. They want the best of both worlds, in short - sophisticated action movies.

Any guy wishing to be 'the next big action guy' better be able to act as well as kick a$$ because the standards are higher nowadays.

One has to wonder if the action icons that we all know and love would have had the same success today if they were just emerging on the scene as opposed to their hayday?

Ice cube (or what ever his name is!) "So what happened to the last XXX?" Sammy Jackson "He died!"

So how are they going to bring back a dead man?

I liked the first film is was fun but the second sucked my left testicle hard!!

It does seem that Vin is in panic mode and doing stuff he should have done a long long time ago, i suppose the best way would have been to do all the sequels to these films back in the day and THEN! pick and choose what films you wanted to do. Worked for Bruce willis, Sly and Arnold, i think Vin has gone about it all wrong.

Maybe it will be a prequel? I know stranger things have happened...

Prequel before he died? Hmm could be, maybe showing how he died or something, but that would really confuse movie goers dont you think?

That could work. They could show his mission right after the events of XXX 1, and this one leads up to the events of his death.....

Its possible they might just pretend like XXX: State of the Union never even happened. That's what I've been doing since I forced myself to sit through it.

Pretty ****ty film where the hero dies! lol Be like watching the titanic again knowing its going to sink, and you have to sit for hours just to watch it!

A good old fashioned retcon is hardly beneath this franchise. :oldrazz:

or just bring him back from the dead, which is most likely what theyre gonna do

They'll probably go along the 'we though you were dead' route.

No doubt insuring Diesel that delivers some lame one-liner response like "I got better" or something.

There'll also be some kind of jokey reference from Cage as to how his replacement wasnt anywhere near as good as he was "I'm one of a kind" yadda yadda yaddda.

Seriously, you just know that'll all be in the trailer.

Wow. Everyone seriously wanted this movie to happen.

Wow...i wasn't expecting this at all.For all intents and purposes the XXX franchise was pretty much dead.

Hopefully they can conjure up something better than the first one which was a fun but otherwise forgettable popcorn movie IMO. Haven't seen the Ice Cube one yet so i can't judge.:o

DON'T. It's one of the worst movies ever made. It makes "Stomp the Yard" look good.

Both XXX are terrible movies. I look forward to another groan inducing chapter.
