Japanese wrestling star Yoshihiro Takayama has been paralyzed from the neck down according to a report from MiddleEasy.com. The MMA outlet says that the fifty year-old suffered the injury back in May working for DDT in Osaka. Takayama’s injury was known at the time, having occurred as a result of a DDT spot going wrong during the May 6th match. However, the seriousness of the condition was not reported until today.

Takayama has had a storied career in Japan, being one of two men (with Kensuke Sasaki) to hold all three of All Japan Triple Crown, the IWGP Heavyweight championship and the GHC Heavyweight championship. He has been a holder of multiple in each of those companies and in the past couple of years had been working primarily for DDT Pro.

It is also being reported that his family is having a difficult time with the financial burden of the treatments.

-ROH's Global Wars Chicago event has sold out just five days after tickets went on sale. The event isn't until October 15. They apparently only set up for 2,300 seats, but the arena they're running holds 5,500. Hopefully they can add some more seats because if they do, this could be the best attended ROH event of all time.

-Rocky Romero makes his ROH return on August 26 at the TV tapings in Atlanta. He will apparently discuss his future at that point after the amicable split of Roppongi Vice.

I wish that the women's matches weren't so predictable. Sasha and Nia both won, just like everyone expected. At the very least, Nia shouldn't have won after injuring Bayley (I mean come on WWE).

Braun continues to be awesome. Either he or Joe should definitely win the belt at SS imo.

Having Seth back away from the fist bump was dumb. This was the perfect moment to do it, but once again WWE missed it.

Honestly, and I say this as someone who normally doesn't like the bash crowds for booing the product, but they did come across as really nasty during the Bayley promo. It's like they did just to be "edgy." You don't boo someone who's injured when they talk about how much they appreciate FAN support. Toronto, you didn't do yourself proud with that I'm afraid.
